  1. What's your price? UT will be awful. UK may be worse, but UT is going to be awful IMO. I don't see how they will be good at all. No QB, if the scrubs could replace Crompton with how bad he was at the beginning of the season I can't wait to see them. Bray might have to start as a true frosh which is never good. No Berry and no Williams. Kiff's big recruits this year are not coming. What do they have coming back?

According to everybody all through the year, they didn't have a quarterback this year either.

  2. Im extremely excited about this game. I wasnt, but the more I read and hear how much Clemson doesnt think that they belong there, and how our 2006 victory was a fluke, Im pumped. I cant wait to invade Nashville and continue our Music City dominance!

C A T S Cats Cats Cats sounds awesome and Titan Stadium!

    Go Big Blue!

  3. As a Raider fan, and having to sit and watch these pathetic excuses for football teams, I see improvment. The Raiders arent playing half bad football. (Im sure this post wont be appreciated much, as Im sure the large fan bases on this site are probably Cincy and Pitt.) But Im happy to see a little progress. Now if only we can get rid of Al Davis.

  4. Kentucky-Great we finally beat Georgia and Auburn! I'm still not satisfied. Between the qaurterback problems and the offensive coordinating, I don't even know where to begin? It must be nice for some you guys to know what it's like to beat the Vols. I sure wouldn't know! It should have been done this season. With an appearance to a better bowl game! Everyone says UK is improving. Where at? A trip to the same bowl, and an average season...

All of this after nearly everyone predicted UK to finish last in the SEC with a losing record. Personally I think this year was somewhat successfull, but not without disappointments along the way.

  5. For the first part of that I have a few responses.

    A. WVU got an unbelievable performance from Pat White (set a Sugar Bowl Rushing record) and Steve Slaton both.

    B. That was way before teams had learned how to defend the zone read, and Rich Rod's offense. USF really came up with the blue print, which is creating alot of havoc and a new LOS with the DL. UGA didn't know what hit them.

    C. No chance in the world would THIS SEASON's WVU, Pitt, USF, Rutgers, etc. beat UF or Alabama. That is comical. The SEC couldn't take them down, but average teams from the WORST BCS Conference in America are going to scare them. How did WVU look against Auburn this season again? But, yeah they could beat the #1 and #2 teams in the country. Cincy would have a decent shot, but the rest of the Big East would get spanked by at least 35 points by UF or Bama IMO.

To the 2nd part, where would the coach go to? Let me make this perfectly clear.......

UK is a Basketball school. Just because they are in the SEC does not mean it is a good job. A quality coach who could take the to the SEC Title and National Title would get offers from all the REAL football jobs in America if they were available. UK is a garbage job in SEC terms and that's not going to change.

The state of Kentucky probably puts out about 10-15 actual D-1 players a year, if they are lucky. Probably only 3 or 4 of those players could actually contribute in the SEC. That isn't going to cut it.

Teams a quality coach would leave UK for......

    -Almost all of the SEC

-Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State. Goes without saying.

-USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, you know teams that actually have football tradition.

-Miami or Florida State in a heart beat.

-Oregon- Oregon is the program on the rise. They have some of the best facilities, and Nike on their side. They are what you think UK could and should be.

Actually the rest of the Pac 10 pretty much has better jobs than UK. UK football is never going to be any good, they just don't have the necessary resources.

I agree with almost everything you said except for one word.

Never is an awfully big word that I never use.

  6. The University of Kentucky football program is coming off the most successfull 4-year stretch in 100... yes 100 years of its existence, and yet some are expecting it to be in contention for BCS bids in what is arguably the toughest conference in the nation..But they say look at what UL did, or TCU,or so on. Yes they had their runs but they didn't play the number of tough games in their conference as UK has. If UK is in one of these other conferences with the teams we've had over the last few years, then it's my opinion that our record would have been better. But we're not in those conferences, and we don't play those teams, and those teams don't play our schedules as well. So we will never know wether the records of the TCU's and the Boise States would be better or worse.

I have longed for the days when the UK football program could gain some sort of respectability and not be a pushover. We are not there yet, but I believe we are on the right path. And it will take some time to get there, and I don't believe 4 years is nearly enough time. So for now I guess I am settling for the lower tier bowls and truly hoping that Joker will be the right choice. But no one knows for sure how that will turn out.

  7. Yay another Music City Bowl trip. I am glad to see that the UK football program can continually make this bowl game and people being happy about it. This is what 3 wins in the SEC though will do for you. This is something I am sure we can continue to grow to expect from this program at the rate we are going.

    You're right !!!

I think we need to go back to the 2 and 3 win seasons of a few years ago. It was much better then than it is now.

  8. Here is how I see it.

Florida and Alabama will be in the National title game and the Sugar Bowl.

Capital One Bowl gets the SEC #2, which by default should be LSU (6-2, 9-3)

Ole Miss (8-4, 4-4) to the Cotton Bowl

Tennessee (7-5, 4-4) to the Outback Bowl

Georgia (7-5, 4-4) to the Liberty Bowl

Auburn (7-5, 4-4) to the Chick Fil-A Bowl. They have had their eye on Auburn the second half of the year.

Arkansas (7-5, 4-4) to the Independence Bowl

South Carolina (7-5, 4-4) to the Music City Bowl

    Kentucky (7-5, 4-4) to the PapaJohn's Bowl

If that happens, the loss to Tennessee cost Kentucky the difference in the Outback Bowl payout ($3 million) and the PapaJohns Bowl Payout ($300K).

UK may have an outside shot at the Chick Fil-A Bowl. That payout is $2.4 million. Music City payout is $1.6 million.

All SEC teams split the payout of the bowl season, so effectively there was zero loss financially as a result of last nights game.

  9. This will be my first SEC road game (I'm not going to count going to Vandy), so hopefully the Cats will be at their best. If UK can run the ball on Georgia, they have a chance. Having to rely on a passing game that is non-existent is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully it's a good trip to Athens, I know I'm looking forward to it!

I'll go with 20-17 UK for a prediction.

I hope you get to see a game of a lifetime. Because, if you do, that means Ill be celebrating a Wildcat victory back here in Ashland!:D

  10. Cobb and Company CAN beat this Georgia team. However, a lot of factors are going to play into the Wildcats efforts: Run Defense, Play calling (Unchain Morgan), Running game and simply, attitude. I do think that Georgia is one of the few SEC teams that Kentucky isnt "scared" of. All that being said, Im predicting a wild day out of the Wildcat and Kentucky wins by 10 in Athens!

  11. Let's not forget the good things he did, several nice rushes and a few good passes. Although he looks slow, he had some nice gains on the ground. I agree with the lack of accuracy and pocket presence, but that will come with experience. I'll never understand him running the ball in the red zone on 1st and 2nd down on the last drive. I believe Cobb or Locke around the end would have tied the game, assuming we got the extra point. What in the world was "Choker" thinking! :ohbrother:

I will continue to support this team. Always have, always will. :ylsuper:

The funny thing is they ran Newton earlier in the game several consecutive times with the success of a touchdown.
