I heard his brother was better than he was.

I have worked with Coach Ledington in the past and know him very well. I think Bell Co. is very lucky to have him as a coach. He works well with people and will be good for the kids at Bell Co. He knows baseball as well as people and how to relate to all age groups. :ylsuper:

A tough loss for the wildcats which ends a great season. The team has improved a great deal this year finishing 15 and 17 with big wins against BB and Campbell County. They will be strong next year with only one senior this year.

Sorry I was looking at what must have been a old schedule or it was changed.

Anyone have any predictions on this game tonight? I don't know much about Conner.

Sounds like a typical reponse form Gimel.
History shows that schools who are winning typically are more loud and proud during times of success. Nothing wrong with that.PC will probably never have success like they have seen over the last three year ever again. It is understandable that they have a ton of fans on here now.
But I think you will see that when things turn back to normal for Pendleton Co. that there are way more Mason County fans on this board. Mason Co. has a tradition surpassed by few in this state, and their success brings a much larger, loyal fan base. As a result, Mason Co. posters will always be on this board, and when they are successful their numbers will only increase.

He needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble and he may be OK.
I Look For Mark Hickey To Do Good For the Cats He Is a Very Scrappy Player And Will Make A Lot Of Hustle Plays -
I think PC will take this one by less than 10, but PC needs to stay out of foul trouble and watch the turnovers. They have had a few too many in the last couple games.

I had not intention of making a personal attack, but your last paragraph seems to show a bit of immaturity. If Montgomery Co wants to build an arena and host the region, along with I'm sure other events, so be it. I'm sure that the future region games held at Montgomery Co. will have their own character, stars and memories and the tenth region tournament will not be ruined nor a regular old tournament, ynless people label it that way.
Grow up? Why do I need to grow up because I like having the tournament at Mason County?I do not appreciate your personal attack based on my opinions.
Just because you don't value the things that I, and most others do does not make me immature.

I go to the tenth region games every year to watch kids play high school basketball and not to just set in the arena and soak in the "tradition". I will travel to Mason or wherever it is being held and enjoy it. I would hope that if one is a tenth region or whatever region high school fan and enjoys the kids playing their heart out, then is would not make a differnce where is was being played. grow up and move on. :ylsuper:
I would like to preface my post by saying I am not a Mason County fan and do not have a vested interest in them hosting the tournament. I do follow the tenth region closely from N. KY and every year, like many others, come for the semifinals and finals of the tenth region tournament every year. We usually get a hotel room for Friday night (this year at the new Hampton Inn) and make a mini trip out of it.The last time they moved the tournament from the Fieldhouse it was a disaster (Clark Co.). I suspect the same fate if the tournament is moved to Montgomery. Either the gym will not be large enough to house it, the logistics and management of the event will cause an outcry or the money made by the schools will plummet.
This will all be ontop of breaking tradition and the losing the 'feel' of what makes the tenth region tournament the best in the state, without a doubt. There is something about playing that tournament on the same floor where the likes of Ronnie Lyons, Billy Ray Fawns, Chris Lofton, Deron Feldhaus, the Sieter Boys, etc. once made name for themselves.
Furthermore, the staff at Mason Co. who put on this event do a very nice job. They are professional, experienced and unbiased towards any team.
With that said, if Montgomery County has a 5,000 seat arena and can legitimately host the event, it would be unfair to not give them a chance and they probably could suit for the right.
But, in this day and age where tradition and respect for the past is slowly dying, it does not surprise me one bit. So, congratulations Montgomery Co. for wasting tax dollars on a gym you really did not need just to keep up with the Jones' (Mason). You now will be able to rise up against the evil empire and swipe the coveted site of the tenth region tournament every other year. And in doing so you are ruining an "event" and making it a regular old tournament. Thanks a million.
Signed,
A tenth region tourney fan, (every other year).

Got to go witht he cats, although it will be tough to beat Mason on their floor, if they make it to the finals.

Welcome to the fieldhouse. They better be ready.
Congrats to the Eagle players and coaches. Exciting times for the boys in Taylor Mill. Coach Carr proves he could have his players ready for the post season.    -
I guess we will never know. You are right when you say the fieldhouse is synonomous with the 10th, especially if you are from Mason Co. and never have to travel.
The Fieldhouse is synonomous with 10th region basketball. Moving the tourney to Montgomery would be a joke. Attendance would be low and the schools would lose lots of money.Lets face it, most schools in the tenth are envious of Mason County (rightfully so). They are the Duke of the tenth region. I do not blame them for wanting to disarm whatever percieved advantage Mason County may have.
The fact of the matter is, Mason County has NEVER won the 10th region tournament as an underdog. So the advantage really has never kicked in for Mason County, but I certainly am not saying it is not there.
The 1981 team was the state runner-up. Then Mason County had a three in a row streak in the 90's, lead by Sean Myrick, that was without a doubt the most talented, deepest team in the region and probably state over those three years. They were not even challanged, the region tourney was a warm up exercise for those guys.
Then the Lofton years, in the 2000's Lofton would have won the region playing with a team of 8th graders. Those Mason County teams would have won the region ten times out of ten on any court anywhere.

I like the 10th at Mason it is close to home for me and I played there when I was in school.I don't care one way or another it suits me just fine right in Maysville. What gets me is Mason fans saying they don't have a home court advantage. They beat around the bush and change the subject to we have never won it without the talent.Just a week age before PC played them the thread was full of posts picking Mason because it was senior night on Masons floor. They are hard to beat on their floor.Just admit they have an advantage and let it go.I have no problem with letting Montgomery try it one year or if NKU gets their arena done let them try it.The drive is no problem for basketball fans wherever the game is.

Great post..thanks for the info :thumb:
I always thought it was voted on by the coaches...?
Yea, Mason has not enjoyed a home court advantage.

Some things are just better left alone. The Fieldhouse is the home of the 10th region Tournament and shall remain so. You cant' go messing with tradition like this. It's talk like this that ruined High School Basketball in Indiana.
I sure if you are from Mason Co. you will get no argument. Don't tell me that mason doesn't have a home court advantage at their home court.

Setting in the stands watching PC win another game on Tuesday, I heard some people talking and looking ahead to the Mason Co. game on Friday. I heard some saying that a loss to Mason would be good because then if we meet them in the region we would have a better chance. I personally disagree that a loss is "good" for any team. It's not like PC is undefeated. I believe that coach Biggs has prepared the team for the tour. and they know how to step up. Go cats and let get to Rupp. What do the wisemen of BGP think? :ylsuper:

Does anybody have a score for the game?

I saw the play in question. I do not believe that the firest baseman meant to tag her high. The ball was hit on a line and after catching it, she simply turned and tagged the player. I do however believe that the ump and the the coach could have and should have stepped in prior to the play and diffused the situation. The girl should have been thrown out because what she did was totally unnecessary and warrented the ejection, but the coach should have stepped up and could have prevented it.
