Its a possibility. Lex Cath's defense would worry me against the 4A big boys, although they impoved dramatically at the seasons end.
-
Very good chance of repeating. They have the talent and coaching. However, its a very difficult task to accomplish. I would love to see it done, but its gonna be hard.

I dont know if I put Brohm over Couch just yet, hes yet to prove as much as Couch has at the college or pro level. Although this is All Time HS Team, so you may have a point considering he was as good, if not better then Couch in HS. I think before its all said and done, eventually he will surpass him. I mentioned Brohm earlier and figure he at least deserves a tie.
Cant we just rotate him and Couch, lol. 2 qbs is the trend these days.

Can we get an updated team?! There are alot of big time names that have been brought up. I think this will be harder then expected. I couldnt imagine doing this for a state like California, FLA, or GA, especially TX.
-
Maybe you didnt get my last post, or just missed it because Im from SE KY, lol, jk. The GREAT teams are GREAT because.......Its not numbers, all though that helps, its not coaching, although that helps too, its not hard work, although you must have that as well. But was seperates the GREAT from the good..........
TRADITION!
Tradition is a mentality that these players have instilled in them that allows them to step on the field, believe they are the best, and play above and beyond their natural capabilities.
-
One word...... TRADITION! It is a mentality that says "We are Trinity" "We are St. X" "We are the best! We should win this game!" The mentality comes from TRADITION. Ive heard coaches many times say that the sticker on your helmet or the name across the front of your jersey doesnt mean anything, and thats total baloney. Let me say it again, TRADITION, TRADITION, TRADITION!

Where would I want my team to improve?...... EVERYWHERE, unless you are playing in the State Finals you need improvement everywhere; even if you are playing in the big game, Id still say EVERYWHERE. In this game there is no room for satisfaction.

Congrats to Steven Hunter of Bell Co. Unusual to see a WR from Bell Co. make the all-state team. LOL.
-
Dawson did play at Bryan Station. Has there been any great TE's come out of the state of KY?
-
I dont believe there are any specific criteria and its really not specified if its a one year award or career award. I think this is one reason ppl have such a problem with it. Its very subjective.
-
Good point Hatz. LOL. Doesnt mean he wouldnt have been a dangerous one though! LOL.
-
Nice post, keep up the good work.
-
Brohm and Redman also at QB.
-
TE, possibly Jacob Tamme of Boyle Co. Another DB could possibly be Bo Smith of Owensboro, he played with Miller. Both players play for the Cats now.

gamer31... please specify what you mean by "represents Kentucky College football." Do you mean to say because Burke committed to NC State and not UK or UofL, whereas Johnson did committ to UK, Burke didnt win and thats why Johnson did? If thats what you are saying then that doesnt hold. There have been plenty of kids who win the Mr. Football award that didnt attend UK. I dont think much changes even if Johnson commits to any number of the D1 schools recruiting him. I dont mean to start anything, just want to clarify what you mean.
If you mean that because Johnson was a bigger college recruit then Burke he won the award over Burke, then I will give you that. Im sure college potential plays into the decision, considering that in MOST (not all, and maybe not in this case, im not sure) cases if you are a greater college recruit you are probably a better HS player then those who arent. Not saying that no other factors factor in to Johnson winning the award, but this is just one factor. Im sure the fact that Johnson plays BOTH ways, and contributes big time BOTH ways, makes a big difference. The award does go to the best PLAYER, not the best qb, or any other specific position.

Brent Slusher - 6'3 220lb LB/TE - Bell Co.
Led the Bobcats in tackles.
34 inch vertical... 4.7 40 yard dash... very physical player, all-around athlete... excellent college potential... fairly well kept secret... is not playing basketball this year in order to hit the weightroom and attend football camps during the summer
Was invited to the Army/Navy Combine in Texas... If he performs well there will receive an invite to the Army/Navy All-Star Game
Is being recruited heavily by many D-1 schools from across the nation.

Spencer Greer of Bell Co. absolutely dominated the freshman and JV ranks in our area. He also made big contributions on the varsity team at corner and safety, as well as special teams. I believe next season, with a year of experience and weights under his belt, he can step his game up and become a stud RB at the varsity level as a sophomore.

I was just trying to add a little humor to the convo BELLCAT, it was just a joke.

I mean play with ineligiable players and all!!
-
Whether Robbins scored or not doesnt matter, please lets keep this civil, Highlands won. Period point blank. But that doesnt make your actions Birdsfanatic acceptable. Like I said, this is about here and now, and Mitchell is ineligiable, accept it Birdsfanatic.
-
Birdsfanatic, if you responded that immaturely to a statement that was the truth, you may need to move to the 2 years old and younger forum.
-
Highlands Football this season has already been tarnished enough with this whole situation. I think posters like Birdsfanatic and all those accusing Boyle of foul play are just making it worse. Trust me guys, Highlands doesnt need your help. :sssh:
-
72birdman, your the one dealing with what ifs, I'm dealing with Bell Highlands minus Mitchell, and thats not a what if, take the game 2 weeks ago and minus Mitchell, its Bell Co. 10 Highlands 0. If you want to get into the philosophy of it all, Id be glad to on another occasion or through a pm.
D1 Players this season.

If you mean "this year" as in this new upcoming football season. Id say Brent Slusher from Bell Co.
