I found the answer in another thread by the Guru. What's up with that? -
Coach Niemi's one-game suspension did not help our cause.
What's up with that?

Boone is not in. Ryle beat them tonight. Sorry for the dup... we entered at the same time
But, I agree with your winners and runners-up, putting Ryle in Boones' winner spot.
-
Was this the first round of Districts. And does anyone know who one the other game?
Ryle won the second game. Conner will now play the Raiders for the District championship Friday night at St Henry District High School Friday night at 7:00.
-
so, you're some kind of genius, is that it?
Strange comment.
1) Ryle 2) St. Henry
1) Dixie 2) Ludlow
1) CCH 2) Holmes
1) Highlands 2) NCC

Senior, only one.
Seemed like the ceremony took a long time... combined girls, boys, cheerleaders.
They should have swept the floor afterward. There was a lot of slippin' and slidin' going on in the first quarter.
-
The Colonels had really good team chemistry tonight. Keener was "hotter than a pistol".
This should be Dixie's modus operandi in the tournament. There are seven players who are capable of having hot nights, and it is not unrealistic to think that several can do it on the same night. They've done it in spurts (like the first quarter against Cov Cath) throughout the season, but have not sustained it for four quarters prior to tonight.
Congrats to the SK Seniors... you should be proud of a fine season.

Boone County takes out 2 of the top 4 teams in the region in a matter of what... 10 days? Maybe things are starting to click in Florence.... Danger time.
Dixie's win at Boone this week adds another twist to this plot... danger seems to be lurking around several corners.

I like Dixie 56-52.

I wonder if he and Herkey are buddies???? Should be a great game tonight, or should I say games.... Taft/Dunbar and NCH/Oak Hill.... Would be freaky if Rice comes out and warms up with Taft.....
Mr. Rice was sitting on the front row of chairs on the floor tonight during Taft's game.
-
Cook is going to Ohio State. He was the best player (#14 from Dayton Dunbar) in the second game tonight.
-
Kyle Howard of Scott.

So they scored 75% of their 4 qtr output in 10 minutes? Wow.
8 minutes (4 per overtime )
The Raiders got to shoot a lot of free throws in OT, and once they got a lead early in the 2nd overtime, Dixie had to gamble with a press and gave up some long-pass layups.
-
Dixie started the game missing a few shots, fell behind 8-0, coach became disgusted and pulled the starters (at least the 3rd time this year), and the hole quickly got deeper. The Colonels spent the rest of the game clawing to climb out.
5 Colonels fouled out. At least 1 Raider fouled out.
-
Are you saying it was 41-41 after 4 then Ryle scored 30 pts in 2 5 minute OTs?
Yes, that is correct.
Box score:
Ryle 16 9 .9 ..7 .11 19 -71
Dixie 2 15 10 14 11 11 -63

I know Highlands won and Holy Cross defeated St Henry 45-32. Does anyone know who won the Dixie/Ryle & CCH/Conner games?
Ryle and CCH were the other winners.
-
Sorry, I don't remember the final score so I can't start a new thread. But, it was very close to this prediction. Holmes was up 20 when the benches cleared for the last few minutes.Holmes still wins. Losing a front court player wont' hurt against Dixie. Holmes guards are just better.Holmes 71
Dixie 57

Henry Clay..... 20 17 13 27 -77
Dixie Heights.. 17 18 18 14 -67
Dixie hung in there with another top contender. Similar to the Scott County game, although they only stayed with the Cardinals for 2 quarters instead of 3.
Henry Clay dominated the boards, using their physical size advantage to put the game away. Henry Clay puts a very physically gifted team on the floor.

Did you see the nun and the priest in the Holmes section? Great stuff :jump:BTW, great atmosphere tonight. Big Holmes crowd . The PA announcer is great. Big student section for Holmes.Nice tribute to the CCH grad and Holmes teacher Runge too.
When CovCath got the ball back and called a time out in the last 12 seconds or so, the Colonel Section chanted "God's on our side"... Holmes responded with "We've got defense". That was a good comeback.

He did not have a dunk in the game. He had a chance but his footwork messed him up and he simply laid it in.
Major hops.
Arrez made a nice steal and was headed for a highlight dunk when he stumbled.
Mr. Billy Walker will show him how to do it right next month in Farifield :sssh:

Coach Chevalier did a really fine job winning a big game tonight. He prepared a nice game plan, he made some smart adjustments and good substitutions, he remained patient during a difficult 3rd quarter stretch, and he believed in his seniors.
Dixie's chemistry is as good as it has been all year. The Colonels still did not hit on all cylinders. They have more potential to score on offense. Tonight they won with defense and key rebounds... which came from a lot of heart.
The Cheerleaders and Band were on tonight as well. Should be a good day at school tomorrow... Go Dixie !!!
