what I'm hearing is 3 tops unless he wins the state his first year then he done. Now thats just want I'm hearing from a very good source.

Is is a great hire, I can't say it's not if your looking short term. Before this when you thought of Rockcastle you thought of Larkey first. I would just love to have a coach at Harlan that would end up like that. I just don't think Larkey will be here long enough, but Hey I hope he bring us a state champ.

You can't please everyone. I would say that if this happens that it is a tremendous hire. A coach that has done outstanding things with programs. I don't think just because you are hometown guy that you get the job. I believe that Harlan County may have just put the program first this time and left the hometown politics at home.

Now come on we all know that Bell County loves this lol

Lets compare Hensley to Larkey.

 

How many schools has either been too.

Larkey (3) Laurel, Cawood, Rockcastle

Hensley I think SW Pulaski, Somerset, Pulaski, East Jessamine, Wayne, Harrison, and Dunbar.

 

Now who stays where.

Larkey 2 state runner ups, 4 region titles, numerous distict titles

Hensley 0 anything.

 

Obviously it is true, you cant please everyone. A lot of parents think there kids are stars when they arent. I hope you arent one of those for your kids sake.

Larkey will be there to win and lead Harlan, not there to be a puppet as you put it.

Obviously it seems to me that you have not been around Harlan very much, because Tim Saylor has done everything he has since he become part of Cawood football to help himself and his Family and only them. So you can't see he is not going to be a part of this now. And no lets not make this personal because we all don't want that. My kids don't nothing to do about this topic i thought evreyone has an OP. And OBVIOUSLY you must not have raed where I said Larkey is a very good coach.

Hey you do have a point. I have to give you that. I guess I'm just wanted someone who is going to be hear a while, but like I said Larkey is a Hell of coach I never disgreed about sorry. Harlan County needs somone like a Larkey to take on this challenge and will be very thankful to land him if it happens.

What makes you think Hensley would stay in Harlan? He has been to a lot of schools and never stayed vey long. I think he has been to SW Pulaski, Pulaski, Somerset, Wayne, Dunbar, harrison, Lincoln. He has made his rounds. I thought most in Harlan wanted a coach that was actually going to stay around.

And you think we're going to get that with Larkey come on. The guy is older than dirt. Also you don't know Hensley like I do, trust me. Oh yeah you forgot a team East Jess. Here in Harlan we do want someone hear that is going to be a while and thats way I don't want Larkey and neither do a lot of people in Harlan.

I was just hoping for a young coach, like David Hensley from Dunbar. But Larkey is a good coach. I just don't think he'll be here very long.

I know HDE knows if this is a done deal him and Tim Saylor are like 2 peas in a pod. lol

Does anyone know if this is true or not? The person that told me said that he heard it from someone else. You know how things can get turned around when word travels from person to person, so it's untelling if I got the correct information or not. :lol: Have you heard anything about this rockcastleraiders?

McCreary County has 3 times the kids in the weightroom than they normally have and they are working hard. Plus they have most of their defense returning and their big play maker will only be a Jr. I say look for a much improved team in the 2008 Raiders from McCreary County.

We need some rockcastle insider to tell us if he is really taking the job, cause it is really trying not to get out in Harlan. Everyone I talk to in Harlan says not to tell. I guess what I'm saying if it was already a done deal, I know the people in Harlan and they would want to tell everyone. Also if I'm rock keep him, name the field after him do anything you can to keep him because as of right now Harlan really thinks they have stole a coach.

If the new coach has no ties he will own no one anything, and can start new, Evryone will recieve a fair shot. Although being from Kentucky will help in scheduling.

I think that even through they bring someone that has ties from Harlan. Doesn't mean everyone is not going have a new start. The best should play the rest should sit and watch. Another thing is if someone has never lived in harlan before it will be hard for the county to keep a coach, because Harlan it's the most favorable place to live. The county just needs someone that is not going to tuck and run after a year or two.
