  1. This was a nice thing to do, but why must it be told?

Probably because it is Dick Vitale giving back. Celebrities get the publicity. I know the family really well, they come into my work all the time. They don't have much money but they always had a smile on their face.

  2. I live here in Bradenton and in the Bayshore School District. It was very sad what happened and please hold the family in your prayers. They are great, down-to-earth people. Dick Vitale believe it or not is a great figure in the Bradenton Area. He is always looking to help out in anyway he can. After I moved here from Kentucky, I have a new perspective for Dicky V for his contributions to society here. Bradenton is going through some rough times and he is stepping up to help everyone in need.

  3. Here is a link and should answer your question:

Vinny is a big time UK fan and loved the fact that he was going to play for the blue and white, so I know this had to be a very hard decision for him. Still, it is probably the best decision for the young man because he wasn’t built for the dribble drive offense. That is not a knock on Vinny, who is very fundamental and has a great basketball mind, it is just the truth. He would fit a lot better into a slow down system that allows him to get into offensive positioning near the basket.

Vinny is one of the nicest and most polite kids that I have ever had the opportunity to speak with and I wish him nothing but the best in the future. I hope that UK fans will also recognize this and root for Vinny wherever he ends up.

Update: Rivals’ Jerry Meyer spoke to Zollo himself, who said that he has officially informed the UK coaches of his decision. Zollo already holds an offer from Oklahoma State, has visited Notre Dame and is getting interest from Cincinnati. In other words, he has really hit the ground running this time around. Good for him.

I could not agree with you more Gold. Vinny is an outstanding young man and as much as it will hurt not to see him in the blue and white, this is the best possible decision he could make. Wherever he ends up, I will definitely be rooting for him. :thumb:

  4. I am actually going to dealership down here in Bradenton that will give me a Brand New Sentra for 13,500. I guess I will see when I get down there. Corolla's for some reason are cheap down here and I am definitely looking at that right now as well.

  5. You can buy a used '06 Altima at Gates Nissan in Richmond for just under $12,000 right now. Saw the sign posted in front of the dealership today. If you don't live near Richmond, I would call them and see what they have to offer.

BTW, I would recommend the Altima. I have driven all three of the cars you mentioned (in fact I drive them almost every day) and I believe that you will be more pleased with an Altima. Yeah, you might lose a couple miles per gallon, but the driving experience will be better, especially if you're taking long trips.

Of all three, I list them in this order:

    1) Altima

    2) Corolla

    3) Sentra

Aiden I appreciate the advice. I live absolutely nowhere close to KY, Florida to be exact. I will have to look into that though because my family lives in Winchester. Thanks for the advice guys, and no Gold you have to fly yourself home and pay for my gas on the car on the way down :thumb:

  6. This is a new year. Injuries are apart of the game and a team needs to overcome them. I felt like GRC did that to the best of their ability and played their hearts against Mason. The better team on the floor won that day. This year should be fun for Top 2. If only I could be there to watch the Finals at The Fieldhouse again. I might have to take some vacation days and drive to Winchester and ride up there with you Gold![/quote]

We could go in your new car....:thumb:

 Trying to put wear and tear on the new vehicle already!

  8. Alright here is my problem, I have what looks like 3 options for me. I could go with a 06 Altima with 20,000 miles on it for about 15,100, but I could haggle him down to 13. I could get a 09/10 Sentra or 09/10 Corolla for about 17,600. The main thing I am worried about is gas. Basically me driving from Florida to KY about twice a year. All 3 have great gas mileage but the Sentra and Corolla are slightly smaller. What does everyone suggest? :idunno:

  9. I agree with you Gold. The only thing they lack is a true PG and they will need to develop some rotations where your best ball handlers are handling the ball. I look for the Cards to make some noise next year and going to Rupp. They will be battle tested come 40th District Tournament time with the schedule I am hearing about.

  10. I checked with my season ticket rep this morning. He said the tickets won't be available until mid July and that I should receive an email when they do. USF is requesting the standard 5000 tickets, but I doubt that many fans will make the trip, so most will be turned back.

Right now it looks like a road trip.

The USF Alumni Association tailgates are OK, we attended them at UofL and UC last year, but I really like doing my own. Since this going to be a weekend trip and not a 2 week vacation, I plan on driving up fully loaded for tailgating. Maybe we'll treat Topper fans to some Tampa flavor. We'll have Tampa style Cuban sandwiches, picadilla, plantains, black beans, yellow rice, and ropa vieja. I'd make Cuban empanadas, but I don't want to break out the turkey frier for that. :D

If we go, OF, you are more than welcome to join us.

 Sounds like a game plan. I am more than likely going to fly and have a buddy who is going to get me some tickets that works in the WKU Athletic Department. I would have to stay, since I moved to Tampa, the Cuban sandwichs are fantastic! I can't to see some Tampa flavor in Bowling Green and I'm sure myself with my fellow WKU Alum will sample the flavor. Just let us know! :thumb:

I gotta be honest... it irks me to no end that our government + now credit card companies are bailing out the people that decided to live way above their means. I am happy for those that were scared to death what they were going to do but as a person that has paid my bills, passed on huge houses I could have had etc it flat out ticks me off how soft our country has become. Covino and Rich from Maxim Radio have a special every Tues (won't give the name) but it is scary how soft we have become as a nation. This is just another example of our society getting the OK to spend way more than it needs to because somebody will be there to clean up their mess!

:thumb: People need to realize their spending limits before they go overboard. Granted with the sources we have in this country, which everyone should be thankful for, you can go way over your head in a heartbeat. I do a monthly budget for myself on an Excel spreadsheet that plans all my expenses and revenues I will have for a certain month and make sure I have enough money just in case a situation was to arise. Kind of like a small rainy day packet.
