You are not hurting too bad their friend. Not going to get any sympathy from Highlands when you are receiving what $1mil for a new facility. Highlands was warned and threatened last week and things worked out just fine for us. LOL. It doesnt matter what is said on here about facilities, threats by fans, etc, etc because the game is played on the field not in the locker rooms. Heck, maybe we will roll into town early and have some temporary facilities built to take care of our boys, maybe bring in some helicopters to dry the field. Use to do that at Highlands yrs ago when we had grass. LOL. Go Birds 20n10
Your helicoopters will be shot down.

No why would I, it isn't that difficult to stop maybe for some 1A schools but should be no trouble for bigger schools.
You put 11 on the field no matter what size school you are and the public schools have all the advantages on the county schools. Getting kids out is easier. They live closer. Everybody knows that.

HC will be fine. It does shock me that some say they quit on fri.
I don't know that they actually quit. PC returned a KO and Punt and recovered a fumble on the HC 20. Three quick scores would make it look like they quit but that was not the case. Mental errors was part of it the PC QB was outstanding. Take him off the PC team and things would have been even.

They played Pike Central last friday. Pike Central scored 2 and Madison scored 1.
HOw many are they dressing out?
-
No North Laurel?
NL will surprise a lot of people. They should be in the playoffs for sure. The attitude has changed at NL. Those kids and coaches are working very hard and expect to win every game they play and that is the way it should be.

So what happened?
It is called a promotion. Some promotions in the school system do not allow you to be a head coach in major sport because of the time invloved.
-
Sure they can. The extra dollars were outside the school and those aren't being offered to just anybody. They are not connected to the school administration at all and were the offerings of individual business opportunities. It's called the free market and capitalism.
Who is Boyle going to negoitate with that has collegiate coaching experience and an NFL pro career?
Illegal to pay under the table. Boosters can pay the school board and they can take the money and pay the coach.

If I was mistaken about it then I stand corrected...I was pretty certain that they did. If not...who won the Whitley district? Southwestern district?:idunno: I was pretty sure that Pulaski and Southwestern were not in the same district. And Harlan County was in the Southwestern district, but got beat early in the season and revenge in the regionals.
Do the players enter the field coming down the bleachers? This is unique plan. Bet the players get motivated. Is the ROCK still there that they use to touch on the way to the field for years? That big rock has got to be sentimental to them.

Anyone out there better than me to explain this rule on this thread?
It is still a rule.

Is coach Koogler stepping down this year as coach of the Leslie County Eagles? I have heard some people say that Daniel Howard, former leslie County player and assistant coach at Hazard was in Leslie County yesterday. I was told he was seen at the board of education and at the high school/locker room. This could be all rumors, but a lot of people are talking about it in Leslie County.
A good way to spread it is on here. I don't think Koog is being replaced.
-
Why? What are we in trouble for?
April Fool joke.

The one who started last year as a "sophmore"...I think Hoover just thought that 3 sports were too much!!! I'm not sure where Cobb will fit in, maybe at TE.
Looks like this is a problem facing a lot of schools. Kids specializing in sports. Why can't they play them all and enjoy their high school career? I think some of them are being led in the wrong direction and this could be by parents that think they are a D1 prospect in a certain sport when actually they would be lucky to play NAIA. ( and there is no disrespect to the NAIA schools)

I really don't know what all they lost from the 2009 team. Can someone give some info on this? I heard the freshman class was small in numbers.
-
Begin by hiring a head coach. Hit the off-season program hard and get the kids committed.
-
I don't think that there will be many changes they will continue to improve.
Who will be their toughest oppenent?
-
I would agree, in the future LC may benefit from getting kids that would have normally went to Corbin. As far as the schedule goes LC should have the toughest yet. They open with 3A runner-up Somerset, then 5A power Whitley Co, and 1A state champ LCA. I don't mind LC playing the 3, but I don't like LC playing the 3 in a row to start the season.
One thing about Coach Mitchell, he don't care to play the best. I believe Trinity still has an open date.

Graduate of Rockcastle County. 4 year player there.
Congratulations!
Congratulations Curtis. Hope you do well at Taylor Co
-
Who selects the players for this game? Looks to me like the East side is planning to stay on the ground the entire game
Whitley Co coaches pick them

With Coach Griffiths nothing surprises me, personally I would love to see him take a job in Alaska...
Football coaches get paid really good in Alaska.
-
Green had over 150 yards rushing, but he's a senior. Taylor and McMillian are sophomores.
OK. I didn't know that. I bet HC wishes Green was back.
-
That happens all the time.
Taylor had 75 yards rushing and McMillian had 67 last year in the win over Clay.
Reid had 53 yards rushing and Miller had 47 against Harlan County. Wilson completed four of 14 passes.
I would think that Green had more yards than the other two from the QB position.
-
Hey Ref, great job. Our crew tries to arrive 90 minutes before kickoff as well. We normally drive together, and do pre-game on the drive as well.
It would be nice if they all did that. I have seen them arrive just in time for kickoff, not even knowing who the captains are.
-
Who knows? FC may go 9-1 this year and WC may be the only team to beat them. Won't find out till the season goes on.
-
I think that you will see a big improvement.
Best of luck to them. I know they have a good coaching staff that is working hard to make that happen.
Paying for winning?
in KY Football (High School)

Around $64. KHSAA has a contract with riherds. Regional and Semi Final trophies are a little more. Host school school pays for winner and runner up for regional and semi's
