If Belfry wins, where is the next game?
-
And jealousy rears it's ugly head once again.... :sssh:
lol, not jealous, I would pull for the team playing agianst Belfry no matter what, it is just in my blood I think. I do respect what they have done and wish them the best, but as a Breathitt Alum, I cannot pull for Belfry, I would be afraid of what may happen!.....lol
-
Anyone who plays Belfry...........lol!

If the Owens boy can stay injury free, KCC might make the playoffs next year, but as I have said before, everyone gets players once every 10 years or so. I do not see a sustained program coming from there because of the administration. The Superintendent has made too many errors and has proven incompetence since he has been there, just look at the other programs and the academic performance of the district. Why would it not be any different for the football program?
I do not see a sustained program at this point either, but the pieces are in place personel wise next year for a successfull campaign. As far as the Superintendent is concerned I am more worried about the decisions that are being made as far as academics are concerned, Knott County is falling farther behind in that area as well. I have hope that things will get turned around here and that the people in charge have the kid's best intrest in mind when making decisions, but it does not always work out that way, especially when politics are involved. Go Pats.....Have a good season......
-
The Pats will have a good season next year and will be close or just above .500 IMO. I predict that they will be 3rd seed in the district behind Breathitt and Middlesboro. Their line will be a weak spot as it has been and Bobby Owens will most of his running around the outside as he did this year. KCC has some good young players and if they can gain experience and help out the upper-classmen, it could be a good season for the Patriots. Need to get some recievers though, they dropped a lot of passes last year.

Congrats! Very good win in hostil territory.
-
Wow, I guess the boys team showed up in the second half for LC.
-
Belfry 42-14, but it could be closer if the Pirates are overlooking the Jackets and do not come out and take care of business.
-
Just a few hours before game time and I would like to take the time to wish both teams good luck and hopefully both teams will play with pride, honor and keep the thought that there is no tomorrow for the team that comes up short tonight on the scoreboard. I hope that Leslie and Sheldon Clark both have their A games tonight so everyone will have nothing to say once the game is over with. No "what ifs" tonight! Play hard or go home and remember.......the Pirates will be waiting. :ylsuper:
GO CARDINALS...... :thumb:
With all due respect the Pirates have to get by Middlesboro first, I hope the team is overlooking them as the fans seem to be.
-
That is why we are so excited, because we haven't been this far in a very long time...We are very proud of all our boys.... :dancingpa
:thumb: enjoy the success while you can, it only comes around once every 7-8 years in Hyden it seems............lol......Just kidding, I think that the Eagles have the right to enjoy their success, and hope they or Middlesboro win the Stata title, but who knows what will happen? I think that if the Eagles come ready to take care of business they win my 2+ touchdowns.
-
Aint that the truth! :sssh:
Actually no, because the game will be in Hyden not in "Pond-Creek."
-
Does Middlesboro or Belfry have any different home advantage than any other team! I am not sure where you are going with this, please tell me?
Middlesboro is a very hard place for an opposing team to win, and so is Belfry, simple as that! It does seem that there are more "missed" calls and such at these places, especially in close games, but that is all a part of the advantage. That being said, I do not blame the officials so much because the fans make the atmosphere such that it is hard to call the game even much of the time.
-
I'm glad that no one outside of Middlesboro is giving us a chance In this game.
Maybe our boys will come out Friday night and play like there capable of playing.
I've said all alone that IF Middlesboro comes out and plays just about mistake free football that NO TEAM in this region can beat us and I will stand by my statement.
We might not be as deep as some of the other teams in this region but this Yellow Jacket team is very talented and NO team this season thus far has stopped us and that includes Leslie County.
0-2 turnovers we will have a chance.
3+ turnovers and it's all over.
Middlesboro will get a taste of Belfry's home-field "advantage" Friday night IMO. Kind of ironic that they would get a dose of their own medicine as far as that goes. Good luck to both teams and I hope that there are no injuries.
-
I want the district rep tp play well and I think they will, but it will not be enough IMO. Belfry 32-12
-
I will support ant team from the district, no matter how arrogant they have been. I look for the Eagles to win 24-12,
-
I agree it's not the coaches fault they do everything they can do to get ou ready by scouting out the teams you play that week and the way I remember we came out the second half and beat knott county pretty bad.
:thumb: Should have done in the whole game though, really bad team KCC had.
-
true but it was 6-0 at halftime. Then the final is 33-0, now that is coaching.
I don't know, Leslie only lead Knott Central 6-0 at half either last year or the year before, I can not remember, it is about adjustments, conditioning, and most of all the heart of the kids on the field IMO. The coaches do their most important jobs during the week in preparation, not on Friday nights IMO.
-
You could have the best coach of all time but you still need some talent. I don't think they have more than m'boro or many other teams.
This time of year is fun because every team is a contender and thinks they are the best. I am sure the Eagles will have a great season, but how great, who knows. Breathitt will struggle with a tough early schedule, but the tough schedule will prepare them for the playoffs. I do not see them making it to Louisville though, I like Prestonsburg. I will debate the Breathitt vs. Leslie game when it is time.
-
Holcomb and Chapman have put together a tough schedule that will help Breathitt come play off time. They are young but we have some good up and coming talent. As said before, defense will keep us in some games this year. Should be some fun in district 4 this year. Starting to look tighter at the top.

Looks pretty good to me, MF. Personally I think Russell and Pburg could swap places very easily and you could shake 5-9 up and put them in just about any order.
To answer the other question, Breathitt lost a lot of players, especially on offense, but coaching keeps them in the hunt in the east, IMO.
Breathitt will stay in games by playing solid defense and wise clock management, especially until their injured QB comes back. I look for them to win ugly and lose ugly in the non-district portion of their schedule, and by the time district games role around, they should have found a "nitch" that works, if not, it will be a long season.
-
Who will be the back QB till he is ready???????
I forget his name, but I think he is either a Freshman or Sophmore. The fact that they are running a wishbone-style offense should help as far as him not having to throw the ball as much. The strength of Breathitt is their o-line and defence this year, so, they will have a couple of "squeakers" IMO.
-
That's a ton full of smack to be talking when the current class of Leslie Co. seniors has won the same number of playoff games as the current senior classes from Shawnee, Magoffin Co., and Knott Co. Central. Leslie Co.'s problem is they are in store for a decent season in the same year that Middlesboro, Belfry, Shelby Valley, and Prestonsburg are all in for decent seasons. It equals an 8-4 record and a second round playoff loss -- quite possibly at the hands of Breathitt Co. depnding on how fast their quarterback returns from a knee injury.
I hear about mid-season for the QB, is that accurate? What drills will they do with him to keep his arm loose?
Your team is out. Who do you pull for now?
