Best of luck to Coach Jones. I am sure he will be back in the Head Coaching ranks before it is all said and done. Does anyone know what South Oldham's schedule looks like for next year?

Im going with Chuck Smith on this one. Took a school that was a nobody, to being almost simply unbeatable. And since he left, the teams havent been the same.
And since he left the talent hasn't been the same.

It has to be Homer Rice. His contribution to football is far and away the best. He helped to INVENT the veer option. He was one of the first to run the inside and outside veer. His overall high school record was 101-7 with nine ties. He also was one of the first coaches to pull the playside guard and tackle on toss plays. He was one of the most innovative offensive coaches ever. He created these innovations while being a high school coach. From a national perspective you could say he is the most innovative high school coach, ever... He went on to coach as an assistant at UK, Oklahoma, and later became head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. He also wrote a couple of the most influential books ever pertaining to offensive schemes (veer). Many coaches still have these books as a part of their library. Pretty good for getting your start in high school. His reputation for x's and o's was unparalleled. I am not a Highlands fan at all, but I do think that Rice has to be number 1 on this particular list. The rest can be mixed and matched but none have made contributions like Rice.

Does anyone know Mercer's schedule for 2007? I had heard that they were still looking for a couple of opponents. Anyone know who they are already slated to play?

I am sick of hearing about Mercer being a 5A school playing in 2A, what about the last state championship Boyle won in 2A, did they not go to 3A the next year? It is the same situation this year for Mercer, if there had not been this new six-class system put in place, Mercer would just be 3A next year.
Quit beating this dead horse, it is over and done with, there is nothing that can be done about it!
What is unprecedented about Mercer being a 3A school competing in 2A is that they have an enrollment in the upper 1/3 of Class 3A and are still playing down. When Boyle Co. and Franklin-Simpson were winning in 2A and then were moved up to 3A their enrollments, at the time, were of the bottom 10 schools in 3A. Not much difference. I am not a fan of Boyle or Mercer, but Mercer has a distinct advantage in 2A that no other school has had before. The advantage is unprecedented and cannot be compared to Boyle or F-S.
