I belive HHS last 11 points came from the free throw line. 11/12 to end the game is impressive.

My daughter attended Coach Summitt's camp in Knoxville last year. It was unbelievably well organized and Coach Summitt and her staff were very involved. She had a great experience. There were over 700 girls at the camp. She will be attending their elite camp this June which is a shorter more intense experience. She also attended Coach Walz's Elite Camp at U of L over a weekend last June as well. There were very small numbers so there was great one on one attention. He ran the sessions like he runs his regular D1 practices. She said that it was the most intense practices she had ever experienced but she loved every minute of it and learned a great deal. I heard the same thing about UL elite camp. Small numbers=loads of instruction and he did run it like a college practice. Very benefitial to players who have aspirations of playing at the next level.

I believe the Crittendon girl has the potential to play at a High D-1 level also. Saw her play once, a couple games back from injury, and she impressed the heck out of me. Plays hard and has the physical tools to be the best player in the region by her junior year.

If you haven't done so, I would also call and eliminate any credit card offers in your wife's name, they can suspend that for three years. Your insurance agent should be able to tell you who you need to call to do that.

How did Becca Greenwell do against Lincoln. Does anyone have stats for the game? Good win for Lincoln County. I really think that the 12th is going to be a good one this year because they are alot of good team. Rock, Casey, Southwestern and Lincoln are four really good teams.

I don't think HHS weight room would pass section 8 inspection. :

You guys are either too close to this situation or you are simply not thinking properly. This has nothing to do with likelihood of an accident. If a kid falls off of his bike or a driver wrecks their car the Ft Thomas school board and the citizens of Ft Thomas are not going to be liable. If a referee gets hurt by a cannon or a player gets hurt from an accidental discharge the city of Ft Thomas is in trouble. Period.

 

Lets stop with these asinine analogies about bikes and cars.

As a HHS alumni I agree. As much as we would all like the cannon to stay the attorney's and insurance companies are going to say NO WAY.

Bikes,cars ect. are privately owned and insured. School districts CAN NOT afford to have liabilities like this on their books. There will be financial ramifications because of this accident.

Go on with the fantasy that it mattered if you like. But the fact is, CC came right back and scored after that--effectively negating any supposed "momentum." But really this is a moot point, because the catch was good.

I'm as big as HHS fan there is but no way was that catch good. The officials were blocked from the view and it was a tough call to make. Goad did a nice job of cradling it after the bounce. HHS scores then and then takes the first drive of the 2nd half and scores to score 14 points before CC even gets the opportunity to have the ball. Do I thnk HHS wins, yes, they have done it all year when it matters the most, but as a fan off football I just want to see the correct calls made.

Don't disagree but I think it's going to come down to the Board Attorney telling the district that it's not an "acceptable riks." I have seen that cannon loaded hundereds of times as you have and I'm just thankful no one was killed. One person who we have overlooked in this terrible accident was the other gentleman who suffered minor burns, lets make sure we keep him and his family in our prayers also.

I hope you're wrong, because I feel it is those who want to quickly destroy the cannon tradition who are thinking only with their hearts.

What's wrong with thinking with our hearts? I don't want this to happen again! Can you guarantee that it won't? Unfortunately the school district will be thinking with their pocket book most likely. But right now it's time to keep the Roller's in our prayers!

Jody Demling: TD was a bad call. The ball clearly hit the ground on the replay. Highlands gets lucky with that one

With regard to the disputed Highlands touchdown pass to Gold (#16), I was no further than 5 feet from Gold when he caught the ball. It was a clean catch and he caught it in the end zone. The ref was right on top of the play.

I was sitting up top with several HHS fans and we all agreed after seeing several replays that the ball hit the ground.

Labor was fantastic and the kickoff return by Head after CC first touchdown is one for the highlight reel. He would have been a 1200-1400 yard rusher for MANY teams in the state this year.

So HHS probably would have still gone into the half up, just 10 to 9 as opposed to 15 to 9. Still stopped any momentum CC had going after their field goal IMO. Congrats to the Birds on number 18 and to CC on a great season and championship game.

While Cody is a great kicker a field goal is not guaranteed, especially with the narrower goal post. That play was at least a 5 point play, maybe 8 points if the field goal is missed.

I didn't think so either... I also thought the ball was dropped.

It crossed the goal line after it bounced off the turf. Saw many replays of the play, big time missed call by the stripes.

Stop using a kicking block for XP and FG.
