  1. When clock stopped at 14.7 the officals used stopwatch to determine how much time clock was stopped and took it off clock after the fact. Wrong, in my opinion. If they are saying 1.2 seconds didn't go off clock who knows what happens at end. Instead of shooting layup kid might pull up an shoots a short jumper,ect... Terrible, terrible ending..

  2. No dog in this fight. Just don't like that happening to kids that put in their time. UUUHHHH and don't tell me you play to win the game. This is Highlands Football and I have experienced playing it first hand. Highlands always plays to win the game. The coaches take that mentality into each week which they should. I ask, why change what you have done all year. What was the JV's record with JV players. Yeah, last week they had a Freshman QB. but only because of the JV QB was sick. Surprised they thought they needed the freshman to win this game.

tdyballgame=voice of reason :thumb: Couldn't agree with you more. Freshman have no business playing in JV games unless they are needed due to injury or they have played JV and not Frosh all year. As impressed as I am with Dale and the results he has on the field this I don't get. :idunno:

  3. fd12, I agree with you about the music and the clock, but disagree with you about the flag thrown on the CovCath td called back. The flag I saw thrown on the play came out very early and was thrown by a sideline ref. I had a great view of the play and it was definitely a hold for what it's worth. Kid grabbed and held a lot of cloth.

On an unrelated matter, the younger Connaughton is a big boy and looks like he'll be a nice football player. He was overwhelmed in the varsity game on Saturday but looked good last night. Shumate looked good punting the ball. I've got a feeling he might be doing the punting for the varsity in the near future or next year. Kid has long legs and fully extends his punting leg.

Saw the same thing with the flag.
