I'm gettin' too old for this....:jump:

Pikeville will be back!!!:thumb:
The Panthers will smarten up this week and get the job done!! 35-7
-
And you have every right to post a statement like that because of JC's recent failure's early in the playoffs.
But, this year is a different team with a different attitude and they will change people's opinoin's on JC football in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about winning a state title or anything like that but they will put up a respectable showing this year.
Good post!!!:thumb:

Me, too!

As much as I'd like to see a good game, it ain't gonna happen. SC will hang early, but Belfry is.....well, Belfry.
48-7, the Pirates are just too much for the Cards.
Good luck both teams, and I hope it's an injury free game!

Good post.

Correction: East Jessamine lost to Lexington Catholic and Woodford and dominated Pikeville until the East JV team went in.
This quote is also off. Nobody got "dominated" in that game. Come on, now!
-
My recollection is that some of more vocal fans were trashing their offense after the East Jessamine loss. Didn't sound like the game was all that close.
Totally WRONG.:irked: I recollect that the fans were saying they didn't like the TYPE of offense that Pikeville was running. I think it is a far cry from "trashing their offense" Pikeville has always been a running-up-the-gut type of team. It's just that we, as fans, were not used to the type of offense that was being played. It also took the kids awhile to adjust to it, too.

When does Somerset and Harlan play?
-
Pikeville should be looking at the Semi's if they remain dedicated to a good physical running game and not try to be too cute.
I like your choice of words!!!

How far did this kid move?? (miles) It sounds like if he moved from johns creek to ratliff creek, it wasn't much of a move. I think, according to KHSAA rules, he sits.

Congrats SC.

I don't think that the Pikeville/Prestonsburg rivalry is over...I do know the Belfry rivalry is for now...
Prestonsburg is no longer on Pikeville's schedule. From what I hear, it was the decision of the Blackcats.
-
Belfry by MORE than 2 touchdowns!
-
Yes, that's right Ashland got beat by a 'good, not great' 1A Raceland team. So there's no reason for anybody to worry about their Friday night game with the Tomcats this year.
Even in a "down" year, Ashland is always tough. That says something about their program!!!:thumb:
-
Hazard is always dangerous at home. Therefore, I feel that they can beat Paintsville at home, then lose to Pikeville on the road. That will put them at a solid #2 seed.
-
If this kid keeps working hard and stays healthy he will be a Mr. Football candidate his SR. year.
NO JOKE!!!! :ylsuper:
-
Bad joke. Sorry.
Thanks! It takes a big person to admit when he's wrong.:thumb:

Doug Howard went straight to Pikeville College for one year.
He no longer plays college football.
-
How is Hazard this year...REALLY?
Are they young? what is their record?

My thoughts:
1. No reason left to talk about the unsportsmanlike conduct...it was there..those who say it didnt happen are turning a blind eye..but there is NO reason to continue to bring it up and take shots at a high school kid who will definately be reprimanded for his actions (or so I hope)
2. Gish is dead on... Belfry may have played the correct assignments on defense and got to the ballcarrier at the point of contact but if we don't shore up our tackling we are in for BIG trouble against Sheldon Clark, Russell, and Middlesboro.
3. I will be the first to say that I feel these two teams were just about equal which should also be cause for concern for Belfry.
4. Elkins earned even more respect for me in the fact that he hung in there time after time after time after getting rocked by Pikeville. The hits on him were completely legal and can be expected the rest of the year. His play fakes were beautiful and his pass to Epling definately solidifies this kids potential to be the missing link to our push trough the playoffs.
5. This game is a quality win for Belfry as Pikeville REALLY wanted this game BAD for pride sake and we walked into a snake's den and came away with a W. One of the things that I felt hindered us against Russell was the lack of close victories throughout last season... this game really showed our boys character and served as a wakeup call that alot of improvement needs to be done.
6. Pikeville is back..... Coach jackson has that team back where it needs to be and they will be a 1A contender next year (if not this year)
I wasn't going to post in this thread again, but when I read this, I absolutely had to. This is the best assessment that I have seen. I think you are RIGHT ON, and it would be a great ending point for this thread!
Good luck Pikeville and Belfry in the post season! You BOTH make the mountian folk proud!!!:thumb: :thumb:

:sssh: Hey, easy, see my earlier post. I guess we all get to decide if enough has been said, sorry. But Harlan has played well. Defense ranked in state, played strong against Breathitt (ranked 2A team). Shut out Hazard at home (not been done often), and Overwhelmed Lynn Camp ( ranked team). Again read my earlier post dude.( or dudette as the case may be)
Sorry if my post came across as harsh, but I just wanted to get the facts out there. Everythings cool....

Yeah I remember the first couple of games this year when everybody was just tickled to death with the offense and the play calling of CoachJ.
I'll admit you're good at twisting words. I am guilty of not liking the "type" of offense Pikeville runs. I am an old school, hard nosed, run it down their throat type of football fan. That's just what I like to watch. I absolutely NEVER questioned Coach's play calling. EVER.
