I like Cumberland in this game. Hazard has lots of speed but so do the Redskins. Last weeek Hazard looked very undisciplined with penalty after penalty, 15 for the game. Evarts actually outplayed them in the 2nd half. Special teams play just killed Evarts. Punt team, kickoff coverage, 2 failed on side kick attempts that didn't go the required 10 yds plus poor offensive line play ensured this game would not be very competitve. Cochran had open receivers all night long but he had very little time to get the ball to them. Cumberland 34 Hazard 30

The Wildcats are playing without any emotion right now and will be playing a good Hazard team. A few weeks ago I thought this would be a very competitve game but not right now. Evarts will need lots of turnovers to stay in this one. Hazard 38 Evarts 14

I just received a phone call from Gallatin that this game just ended. The Evarts Wildcats have been sleep walking since halftime of the Pineville game two weeks ago. When they finally wake up they will be 4-3 after the Hazard game this coming week.

The Wildcats were not ready to play tonight and Jenkins was. This is a huge upset and really hurts the Wildcats chances of hosting a home playoff game.

In the pre-season coaches poll Evarts was picked 3rd behind Hazard & Cumberland. Evarts hasn't played either team yet so they could very well end up in 3rd place. The games with Gallitin County & Williamsburg, both away, will tell us a lot about the Wildcats. 2 wins have come against teams with a 2-2 record, Cawood & Pineville. The other 2 wins have come against winless Adair County & Harlan. This weeks opponent is 1-3.

:thumb: Opening the new school without all of the facilities that were being promoted around during the construction debates is a HUGE mistake! As of now, Cawood's facilities will be used for the games and practice. Just where are are these JV, B-Team and Frosh teams supposed to practice while the varsity is practicing? If the school opens before its ready, the money for all of the promoted sports programs will never come. Soccer, a swim team, a golf team is still a dream away. I thought the new school was for the kids???
