  1. The season is not over but honestly it has been a great one thus far. Since losing to (ironically) UMASS, and then no one until the "thrown" game SEC Tourney, that Pitino pulled by benching Walker and to have it actually work in '96. Outstanding for this young group of core players. I am proud of all they have achieved thus far. As many UK fans do expect...I am still left wanting more. I must admit it has been one of the best teams and seasons I have seen in my lifetime.:thumb:

  2. Come on people...EVERY game has questionable calls. Go back and watch anyone you want. You will find the video shows errors in officiating. Get over it or become an official yourself and do it in real time see how you do. I bet not as well as the guys tonight or any night. Tonight UK won a basketball game in overtime on the road in the SEC. That is that.

  3. As far as preparation and adjustments Pearl leaves a lot to be desired. He played a 3-2 zone that UK wasn't prepared for, I will give them that. He slowed the pace and the players knocked down some big, big shots, especially Goins. What other adjustments did he make? At the end of the game how did he manage that? Close game coming down the stretch and then what? Nothing! Good coaches excel at the end of games. Coach Pearl did not do well in that category the other night. Give me Cal all day long. Blending 3 true freshman on a team that has lost only one game. Pulling out win after win, coming back from being down. He can flat out coach.

  4. OK, who is it? Coach K, Calipari, LBJ, Wade, Bosh, #1 pick, Pitino to Nets? Wow, this situation has too many IF's to be considered a threat. IMO Cal is here for the 10 year plan he stated when he was hired and to win some NC's and get a large number of wins per year. He is at the top of the food chain now. Why would he go to a different ecosystem where he would have to evolve from a bottom feeder (Nets) to a top predator(Celtics and Lakers)? Does anyone think his ego is that big? Pitino did that and regretted it now look what he is going through!

  5. I tend to think if you don't live right things have a way of kicking you in the butt. I also think what Pitino has went through will make him a better person and coach.

This year isn't over and they have enough talent to make the elite 8.

They better get a pretty high seed to do that. If they make it, their seed won't be higher than an 8 leading into a showdown with a top seed in the second round.

  6. I disagree. I don't think it has ever been his intention to play college ball for more than a year. If he didn't have to wait a year to get into the draft he never would have gone to college. Wall coming back to school next year is a pipe dream, IMO.

Plus, if his coach keeps calling him out, he definitely won't be back.

So, is he just a young man trying to find his way? Is he having a great time in the college limelight? Interesting conversations for people who probably love to watch the guy play. So should we also leave him alone and let him do what he does?:idunno: I personally support him in what he decides. If it is the NBA, I will actually watch some regular season NBA games next year just to see him. He seems to be a good role-model for the youngsters. IMO

  7. You bench them and always put them back in the game if/when they realize they messed up. That is what person wearing these shoes always did. If they get another and get disqualified then they go to the locker room and sit out the entire next game.

  8. Nope. I must disagree. Women vs. men in an athletic event is a mismatch. In a skill game where strength and athleticism is minimized the scales tip toward women. Maya Moore is not as fast as any high school male guards I have seen...while I have watched her against other female competition there is no way she can make the jump to the men's ranks...PERIOD!!!:deadhorse:

What did Marion Jones do to get faster...take a male hormone. While she did that her times were still well below the fast natural male. There are many men to break 10 secs. in the 100M, she had to use a male hormone to do it...come on she was the fastest woman on earth...with a little help from the chemistry department!!!:deadhorse:

  9. The UCONN women vs D3 are just as quick in all positions and quicker in some. Most importantly quicker at the guard spot. Maya Moore would have no problem getting her shot whenever she wanted and the posts couldn't be moved off of the block. Those who doubt this have not seen how strong and quick the top women players are. All of this would be vs D3 players.

Most of the top 10 boys high school teams could beat D3 teams too.
