Pulling for HC . Go Blue Devils. :dancingpa
-
I knew that HC could win big...just didn't know if Dunbar could hold on to their luck and pull one out...for the 3rd game in a row.
Congrats to HC :dancingpa Hope you go on and win 4A. :ylsuper:
-
Dunbar seems like a cat with 9 lives...games where they are getting that needed break or a big play to pull out the win. I do feel HC is the better team... This one will be interesting.

I talked to William today...he will be moving back to Dunbar. He transfered to GRC from Dunbar around Jan. I believe.. I know he was at GRC for KIRIS testing.
I hate to see him leave. He is a very nice young man and only wish him the best. He is not leaving because of the coaching, but because of his dads job.

Coach Columbia is as fair as they get...

If you Mercer fans have never been to Russell for a football game, you are in for a treat. I love the scoreboard when they score...fire comes out of the Reddevil. The place I am sure will be packed this Friday. Great place to watch football. :thumb:

Hey guys I can remember back in the late 90's we went two yares and didn't win a game. This year we ended up with a record of 8-3. Dispointed in the outcome of tonights game..yes, but still so proud of what these young men have done. :thumb:
-
With 15 seconds to go in the game..Danbar scores and makes extra point. Making the score 30-26 The largest lead in the game was when GRC scored first and led 6-0. It was a great game...proud of you Cards!! :thumb:

Some to mention that stand out to me:
1. Woods, Morgan Co: simply awesome, what he has done.
2. McGlone, Russell: cupboard wasn't bare, but the wing-t keeps on going.
3. Hensley, Dunbar: completely turned the whole program around in 1 year.
4. Eckstein, Bellevue: took a team with 20+ players returning from the year before and stormed the hallways and got 50+ players out for 2005 and knocked off Beechwood, another awesome!
5. Downs, Bardstown: anybody looked at their defensive stats lately? Awesome!
6. Columbia, Clark Co: finally got it clicking in Winchester.
7. Rains, Lex. Christian: has a potential state finalist team in Lexington in only his 3rd year.
8. Harp, Danville: keeps winning, and winning, and winning.........
9. Pardue, Boyle Co: great program, adds another outstanding coach.
10. Sphire, Lex. Catholic: this team is for REAL..... Hope he finally gets his shot at the carpet.
11. Schlarman, Newport: great 1st year, with new program after leaving Campbell Co.
12. Buchanan, Mason Co: what a turn around, 1-9 in 2004, and now fighting for district runner-up in 2005.
13. Hart, Ashland: another big year for the Tomcats. Great Players Coach.
14. Schnieder, Newport Central Catholic: broke the state win record, what more can you say.
15. Last but not least, Haywood, Belfry: lose two great runningbacks and a fantastic O-line from the year before, and what does he do? Nothing except sitting 7-2 going into the final week and has another title contender down in Pond Creek.
Apologize for any spelling errors of coaches names but I thought all of these guys deserved some special mention.

Great list. Now if someone could put one together for the western part of the state.

Coach David Hensley of Paul Laurence Dunbar, has taken a group of young men and turned them into winners!!!! After the tough year last year and the loss of some key players he has made this group competitive.
I agree he has done a good job, but my vote still goes to Randy Wood of Morgan Co. Just unbeliveable what he has done with that program.
-
Randy Wood of Morgan County
Took over one of the worst football programs in KENTUCKY at any class. Has won 15 out of 21 football games with less numbers than teams mentioned.
Show me a team in the last 15 years with a worse record and quicker turn around. Also, continues to win games with injuries and in the last few weeks relying on a 3rd string QB.
With only a couple of weeks before last year's first scrimmage they were practicing with between 11 and 14 players and the program nearly folded...to see where this program WAS and IS now is nothing short of remarkable.
I agree..never believed that a turnaround like he has made was possible at Morgan.

That's about as insulting as I've ever heard. You can tell your friend there are plenty of public schools who haven't dumbed down curriculum and there are LOTS of teachers and coaches who do more than draw a freaking paycheck. And that kind of attitude is exactly why some of the public schools have problems with uppity snotty people who think they are too good to attend a public school. My public school has over 50 kids getting college credits this year on our campus with a partnership with a local university, has instilled a new freshman academy with teacher's working overtime, had 3 national merit scholars last year, and on and on.........don't lump all "public" schools in the same boat just because you are upset about some stupid athletic vote. Athletics schould not drive high schools. Get over it, the BOC won't let it happen anyway. You educator friend obviously isn't very educated.
I would not post a reply...because I was so HOT after reading RockPrides post.
Great post akw :thumb:
