Another good matchup in the 8th region tournament. Henry County won the first meeting by 3. Who advances to the championship game?

My thing is Henry matches up very good with Spencer especially without Smith and Seawright.

My pick is Woodford vs Henry in the championship. And who knows what could happen then.

Henry County will play Spencer County Monday night at 6:30! Henry won the first match up by 3.

I think most people have already moved South to the championship game. Can Henry pull off the upset? I think so, but it will solely depend on how well Henry can defend the three and if they can use their size advantage.

Henry County is just that much better. They steam roll the district tournament.

Xay Johnson and Baylor Nolin put on a show tonight! Baylor Nolin with 42, and Xay Johnson with 34! Shelby was up at half time by 17 points- 54-37. What ever was said in the Henry County locker room worked to a tee. They opened the period on a 15-0 run in 3 minutes. And never looked bad. They outscored the Rockets 57-20 in the second half.

It was a very tough senior night for Henry County for sure. Owen County came in lighting it up. And Henry just looked stunned by what was happening for most of the night. It was 8-0 quick before the starters went in and Owen county kept up that momentum and never looked back. They deserved that win no doubt. Looking forward to a possible re match next Friday!

I’m not sure I have watched him in a couple JV games and I think he will fit right in to how they are playing right now. My understanding is he only practices with the varsity guys and just plays JV. So they all are getting reps with him on a daily basis.

Henry County gets transfer guard Cooper Holland eligible Feb 26th the day before the district championship. So sad to see this kids season taken from him after all the other transfers in the state were let go. Kid did it the right way too. But glad he will get to see the floor some this year heading into his senior season. Also not sure on a return time for Drew Cole, I was there against Spencer and he did not play. I heard broken nose, but who knows.

They are playing some crazy good basketball right now. Sharing the ball like crazy. The last 5 games they have had 3 plus people in double digits. Ball is not sticking at all. Coach Tingle has these guys rolling at the right time.

Baylor Nolin and Ethan Keller combine for 10 threes and the Cats take down the Bears. Both teams without key contributors. Drew Cole for Henry. And Seawright for Spencer. Overall a great game it was close the entire time. What a win for the wildcats!

Ethan Keller just tied a school record with 8 threes in the game against Eminence. 26 points led the team. 8 for 8 before a miss!

Very sloppy game as expected after a two week break. But, Henry found a way to play out of it and get the easy win. Makes it 8 of the last 9 for the Wildcats.

After two technicals and a slap to the face Henry county takes care of CC. 4 wildcats in double figures.

Wildcats have three in double digits as they take down Collins!

Henry County falls to Boyd County 77-62. This was a very competitive game for a while. So proud of the way the team fought. Drew Cole set a 2A state tournament record being the first person to shot over 8 shots in a game and not miss! Baylor Nolin finished with 25 for the Wildcats and Drew Cole had 18. The Wildcats have proved to a lot of people they can compete with a lot of teams a top of the state while they are healthy. Such a cool experience for everyone in the community. They made the community proud for sure!

You would be correct. Probably up there with biggest wins in program history. So happy for these guys!

Henry County takes down Lex Cath 67-66!!! Wow!! Biggest win in 20 plus years for the wildcats!

Henry County advanced to the 2A section 5 championship again Lex Cath on Friday night, which is a tall task. After taking down Franklin County 65-64 in the first round behind 43 POINTS from Baylor Nolin!!! He also surpassed the 2000 point mark!! And in the semifinals, they took down Harrison County by 15. Traevon Wright made his return this week, seeing limited minutes, but glad to see him on the floor finally.

Henry County won 77-47. 32 points from Baylor Nolin.

Great write up. I think a lot of people out here were very disappointed in these outcomes. But it is very clear that they are missing those guards in a big way. Baylor Nolin is being thrown into the point guard role for the team right now which isn’t an awful thing it’s just the people around him can’t help him get it up the floor right not. It’s a big learning curve right now I think, they will get better. Good news is they will both be back within the next week! In time to play Owen County I believe.

Anderson County beat Henry County 43-38 last night. Credits to them they did what they wanted to and slow the game all the way down and never let Henry get into a rhythm. Anderson county is going to give a lot of teams fits with the way the play on the defensive end.

Henry County had its first scrimmage tonight. They Beat Western Hills 66-42 This game was never close. I believe the score was 16-0 at one point, and Henry County ran the score up to like 33 points at one time. What I was really pleased with was Henry County's defense; they were suffocating on that end.I don't know how many turnovers they forced, but it was a lot. They were flying all over the place. And on the offensive end, Henry County had 11 threes as a team. Brody Cross was the Wildcats' leading scorer with 14 points (4 threes on four straight possessions). Very balanced scoring attack, I was told there were 5 different Wildcats in double figures. Other teams are gonna have to respect and guard everyone if they keep shooting the ball like they did tonight. There are a lot of good shooters on this team. They played very fast and shot a lot of threes. I think that's how they are gonna play all year long. Overall, really pleased with what I saw. Things are looking very good in New Castle.

No word from preseason practices, but I’m really excited to see them for the first time next week. I also expect them to be much better than 8th. In terms of best team in the past 50 years I’m not really sure I’ll have to look into that. I know that in the past 15 years it was probably the 2010-2011 team who took Oldham County down the final buzzer in the region semifinals ended up losing by 2, that Oldham County team went on to win the championship by 20 points I believe. No other team since them has won a region tournament game. I look for this group to change that. Should be a fun group to watch this season.
