Ugly penalty filled drive to open the second half for East but results in a TD to Morton on a roll out. False start on kick pushes back back and PAT no good. 37-7 East leads with 8:20 left in the 3rd qtr

Nice run back by East on the kickoff got it past midfield down to the 35. Rekick, I missed why but appears a penalty on East moves ball to the 50 for the kick. Nice run back to the 40. East driving first play gets 5. Next play pass overthrown on the East sideline and it’s 3rd and 5. Swing to Morton picks up the first. First down at the 30. Penalty moves it to the 19. Incomplete down left sideline 2:15 left in the half second and 10. Wright rumbles to the 11. Up the middle to the 4 but another flag this one on Western. Ball moved to the 2. Time out East. East CB bites on a pump fake and a post pass slips over his head for a 50 yard catch and run in stride for Western. Kick is good. 24-7 3:28 to go in the second quarter

No idea what happened but Western got the ball back two plays later. Series of penalties and they’re at midfield now. 3rd and 1 at the 49. Sweep over the left gains 4 and the first down. Over pursuit again let's QB cut back inside and down to the 25. 35 sec on clock. Western keeps on the ground and runs clock out. End of the first. 8-0 East Jessamine leads Western Hills.

East just ran it down Westerns throats. Several big runs by Wright and Morton. Nice mix of play calling by the staff to start.

Western Hills received, rough first drive multiple penalties including a crackback block pulling a long TD back. East Takes over after a punt rolls and downed at the 2 and proceeds to March 98 yards to pay dirt on a TD by Morton. 2 Pt play is good 8-0 at4:53 mark of first qtr.

I realize Western Hills did not look great against Estill but now I thing some comments are sandbagging. ? But I would be VERY happy with a margin like that. Those kids have definitely put in the time and bought into the system.

That comment may be bait. Lol. Like Saban said, don’t drink the rat poison. As long as East fixes a few things on both sides of the ball, (contain on D and a couple of timing issues on O), that prediction is very possible.

I want to make a correction that a coach pointed out to me, Wright actually had 2 TDs not one. So apologies to the young man, I looked at stats wrong or cross eyed. ?

Who wins this one? East Jessamine coming off a solid first game win 37-28 against Bullitt Central. Western Hills coming off a home loss to Estill County 21-10. East Jessamine was lead by QB Bryce Bentley’s 16-25 for 217 and 3 TD game, RB Jacob Wrights 16 carries for 114 yards (7 ypc average) and 1 TD, and Brady Cummins with a team high 9 receptions for 133 yards and 3 TD. No stats available for Western Hills.

37-28 final, East Jessamine defeats Bullitt Central to start year 1-0. Lots of good for East, lots of things to work on. Good teach tape. Happy bus ride home for the boys and back to work on Monday.

Clock into 5 minuets now. Penetration again qb takes off. No one to his left and out of bounds at the 17. Scrambles again and pushed out at the 7 yArd line. TO East. QB is the only offense for Bullitt, sadly. He’s a talent. True dual threat. Not a cannon for an arm but very good.

Tried onside kick, but offsides so brought back 5 yards. Inside again, recovered and dropped immediately at the 49. East ball in Bullitt territory. #10 bulls ahead for 6. 2nd and 2, up gut now 3rd and 3. Fake handoff and dump pass broken up. East going for it on 4th and 3. Tries drawing offsides. Bullitt has energy again. East needs to grind out a drive and let the D rest. Time to hand off to Wright, Morton and Naylor and control the clock.
