First I want to make it very clear the I love Alex Matthews. i know him and his family very well. He is a phenomenal person. However, how could you come to this conclusion? Pearson averaged 21 and 10 his junior year and 27 and 11 his senior year. Pearson competed against CJ Frederick, Trevon Faulkner, Adam Kunkel, Jay Scrubbs etc. for Gatorade POY. This is gonna sound like i don't like Matthews; which is far from the case. I know and love the kid very much. But to suggest he was a better player than Pearson is kinda crazy to me. I mean the kid is the schools all time leader in points, rebounds, block shots, etc etc. Maybe I'm missing something here. Are you suggesting that Pearson's team made it to state because of Matthews? He was never a big part of that team as a sophomore.
