  1. Couldn’t agree more. I have seen things on here this year talking about Ryle having the players but often being put in a bad spot. I felt players were put in a great spot to win the game from the district tournament run on. The Raiders did what they do, but there were wrinkles thrown in. Douthit face guarding and shutting down best players, press was turned up, really getting out and running. They were a fun team to watch and one of the best NKY and the state will see. Congrats to all of Raider Nation

  2. If I wanted to slam someone then I would have. Seniors taking bad shots and forcing things I think would warrant a timeout. Stamm is a coach who is always smiling ear to ear as well as very vocal and clapping his team through games. Last night there was none of it. They made some bad mistakes and the coaching and encouragement through that didn’t happen. It was hands up, over the face or head down which is unusual.

  3. Conner just looked uninterested in this game from the start. This includes the coaching staff. Things didn’t go as planned and coaches had hands thrown in air and visually expressed displeasure but no timeouts called. No adjustments made and limped into halftime. In the second half much of the same until the end when their was a sliver of hope. Have seen this team play a lot and coaching staff was not in it either. Not sure if they just thought Dixie was going to pack it in.

  4. Nah don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to dog Dixie at all. I thought the gameplan and the player efforts were absolutely fantastic. You don't beat a top 5 team without a great performance. I'm just saying, Connor didn't look themselves. Maybe that was all Dixie's doing. It just didn't look like Connor came with their best.

Conner is a jump shooting team and a very good one at that... If they aren't hitting 3s they struggle offensively. I thought Drummond looked good last night but next year will be tough sledding with all of those guards graduating (Hurst, Jordan, Strange).

  5. Hurst is a phenomenal player. 1st team All-9th Region for a reason. But for the first 3.5 quarters Connor looked like they didn't know how to score without the ball in her hands. They looked lethargic and a bit lost defensively.

It made me wonder if the flu might be running through Connor?

The Flu? come on... give Dixie credit they came in with a good game plan and executed.

I have watched Conner play several times this year and other than the big time Ryle match-ups they have looked "lethargic". Makes me think they took Dixie lightly and didn't respond well when Dixie came out and punched them in the mouth.

  6. I think nominating multiple candidates from any region lowers the chances for someone from that region winning. Even if only somewhat.

1000% agree because you are splitting votes in your own Region! So at that point you would be banking on regions who rarely leave their area of the state to play anyone, to vote for kids out of region.

Wish the 9th could have figured it out.... I find it hard to believe Wheeler doesn't win at this point.

  7. Not sure why the head shake. Stats don’t lie. No offense to Igo. She is a great player but just don’t see it. Twice, she was held under 30% shooting in the tournament and had her one game in double figures against a BE team that hasn’t been ranked in top 20 all year I don’t think. When she played the other two teams she did not fair as well.

Ryle goes through 3 teams that have been in the top top 12 all year. And only one game in only the scoring category does Igo outperform Crittendon.

Maybe player of the game for that game for Igo but I would side with Crittendon for all tournament.

  8. I'm just saying if Ryle would have scored 20 more points what's the difference. Every time we see a REALLY lopsided score people want to get crazy acting towards the winning coach. My point is does anyone really think the cooper kids are happy they only scored 71 and not 91? Did Ryle have to score 71? No they could have stopped playing like other's think you should. My point is if the game is on your schedule then play the game regardless of outcome. Just play if it ends up 100 to 2 then it's just a 100 to 2 game. Cooper will be really good in a couple years maybe they can return the favor.

The problem with a 100 to 2 victory is poor sportsmanship, which used to matter to most people. Its all about how you make adjustments in the blow out. Ryle started subbing the deep bench in Q2 and the starters saw less than 5 minutes in the second half. It comes down to respecting your opponent.

  9. Thank goodness Ryle didn't score more.I'm sure the kids at Cooper feel so much better only getting beat by 34.

Confused on your post... are you promoting teams to run up the score?

I get it, Cooper kids got drilled either way and an L is an L but not worth Ryle going out and putting up 100 on a bad team.

  10. I have not seen Scott Co. play live this year but they seem a little high to me on the list... I get that they are undefeated but their schedule seems a little weak so far. Interested to see how they fare against GRC/Lincoln Co. in Toyota Classic.

Thoughts from anyone who has seen them and other Top 20s live?
