Highlands will once again be without sophomore point guard Sam Vinson. Hoping to have him back for the Newport Catholic game. The birds are a much different team with him off the floor.

Game never happened. Miscommunication in game time for the final. HMS was told one time, SS told another. Unfortunate, not sure if outcome would have been different, SS wins 99/100, but birds would have loved another shot at the champ!

Anyone know how the 7th/8th played out?

Explains a little.
Birds nail 10 3’s to beat St Mary by 14, play Susanna again tonight in the final.
-
Rebounds were 35-8. Birds biggest player on the court tonight was 6’0.
-
6-5, 6-5, 6-3 for Susana. I have never seen a middle school team this big in my life. Would compete against many NKY JV teams.
Nothing for the birds to be ashamed of, they kept battling and this will make them better. Back at it tomorrow vs another very good St Mary’s team that HMS beat by 3 last night.

This should be a really fun game to watch. I have seen Susana twice and Highlands multiple times. Should be a real contrast in style, Susana’s size against Highlands skill and speed.
Susana should be favored but Highlands has a chance if they rebound and run. The wild card could be #11 for Susana (not sure of name). This kid is legit, probably would be on many varsity teams if he played on the KY side of the river.
Should be fun, one of NKY’s best against one of Cincinnati’s!

It was a foul, not a smart foul. Harding was driving with his head down against Starkey but headed right towards Sisson, Starkey reached in and fouled him. I am not sure if he just guards him that Harding finishes over Sisson but we will never know. It was, unfortunately, the correct call.

Highlands by 8.
I don't think Newport has enough outside of Miller, Mcguire, and Harding to win this one. Highlands' depth and energy at home should carry them. As good as Taj Harding is, I do not think he can/will do enough defensively to limit or slow down Sisson. From the games I've seen this year, the only thing to slow down Sisson is fouls. If he stays on the court, Highlands wins.

Boys Turkeyfoot at Highlands
6th Highlands by 5 (not 100% sure)
7th Highlands in OT
8th Highlands by a bunch

Newport at Highlands next Monday should be fun! Always a tough game.

St Henry has a very good, but still young roster. They will be a force in the 9th the next 2 years. However, Highlands seniors, along with Vinson controlling things at the point will be too much for St Henry tonight. Birds by 10ish.

Highlands at Ballyshannon
6th Highlands by double figures
7th Highlands by double figures
8th Highlands by 4 in a great game.
8th grade game was a fun one to watch. Two very good teams.

Highlands vs St Pius Results
6th Highlands
7th St Pius
8th Highlands

The Highlands 8th grade game was 47-29 so I don't think it could have gone either way. After a few minutes in the second quarter it never got closer than 8 points and stretched all the way to the final score.
Also, fouls were 16-14 in Highlands favor. Highlands shot 18 FT's and Woodland shot 13 I believe. Refereeing did not have as big of an outcome in this game as is being let on.
