Anyone have attendance figures for the first three sessions?

Anyone have attendance figures for the first three sessions?

I just looked at Beechwood's schedule. I like how that played out for them. They only played 14 games (10-4) against 9th region teams, but had a flavor of 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th region schools. Like how it was balanced, and it must have helped prepare them for this time of year. Kudos to Coach Goetz for doing this. Hate when I see teams play 20+ games against only regional teams. Kids need to see other styles of play from around the area/state.

This is going to be a better game than most are anticipating. Highlands has the horses to win this game, and it wouldn't shock me if they do. If Highlands is healthy, this will be a dandy for the first round of regional. I would think Coach Sullivan did not like seeing Highlands style in the first round.

I have seen Newport a couple of times this year, and came away impressed each time. Conner playing very well lately, but Newport will prevail. Newport might have the two best combo players in the 9th and love the way they can score the ball.
-
Tough matchup for the Cru. I have a feeling the size of Cov Cath is going to give St. Henry fits. I love watching Vieth play, and I think he will be the best player on the court, but Cov Cath prevails by 10-15.
-
Love this matchup for Beechwood. I know Dixie played well against St. Henry, but I can not see them improving enough from the 20+ win Beechwood had earlier in the season. Would be great accomplishment for Beechwood to get to the Regional Semis, but Dixie did get to finals last year so they do have experience on their side of being there. Hope Beechwood not just happy to be there, but I think they will be fine in this one.

Excellent read, you do a phenomenal job with this. Can't wait for tonight's games.

Both of the games tonight (SK v. Gallatin / Oldham v. Collins) have the same type of team identities. SK and Gallatin going to push tempo and shoot a lot of 3's, while the other game is a complete contrast with 1/2 court offense and hard nosed defense. SK/Gallatin high scoring affair, while Collins/Oldham could be very low scoring. I look for SK and Collins to both get wins tonight, and the SK/Gallatin game could be a instant classic

Seems like the draw really plays into some great semi final games, but those first round games do not seem that intriguing to me. Love the Fieldhouse for the regional but will be at BB&T for the 9th tourney the first two nights.

8th Region Girls draw is at Owen County at 2:00. Separate draws.

Having the draw on Sunday makes zero sense. I said this yesterday and some on here defended it. With all the resources you can use to scout now a days you should draw as soon as District finals are finished. No one plays today. Teams are set. Now 4 teams will have less than 24 hours to prepare for regional first round, and some schools do not allow Sunday practices!
-
Just pointing out the fact that they had not played. Your post led people to believe that they had played everybody in the regionals. I would say most people didn't realize that they actually had not played. Hoping Spencer County draws Gallatin. Would be an interesting game.
Has the Collins/Spencer County district final been played? Hoping Spencer draws Gallatin says they will be a runner up to Collins. Are you saying that if you lose tonight Gallatin is the team you want to play as a district runner up? I think Gallatin is playing as well, if not better than anyone in the region right now. I would be weary of wanting to play them. If you win, I assume you want Henry County instead of SK or South/Oldham loser.

How much prep time do you need? You’ve been prepping all year. Everyone in the region knows everybody else.
Agree to disagree on this. With Hudl I would want as much time to prepare for a team that I could. Decade a go it might not have mattered much since had to see teams live, but now you could get 10+ game tapes for anyone you might draw. One thing to be able to scout a team live, but hudl has opened up scouting a team to another level. After getting tape, need practice time to use it affectively, which is hard to do if only have 24 hours to get it done. I see where the draw is on Saturday, so I guess some coaches might agree with getting it done ASAP.
-
Agreed, as my post said they are the next tier under Scott County/Henry Clay. I personally am not sure anyone in the state matches up well with Scott County even after the Dunbar loss. I do think Campbell could do well at state if get out of regional and past John Hardin in first round (again if both get there). No Louisville or Lexington schools until the semis after that first round game.

Draw on Sunday for the Regional that starts Monday night? Seems late with districts finished tonight. Do they still plan on playing Mon/Tues, Friday, Saturday? 4 teams play day after draw, not much prep time for those teams. That is shocking to me to be honest...
-
I think most could agree that McFarland is a great young man. It just didn't work out at Ryle. I hope Coach McFarland finds a landing place if he is still interested in coaching for another chance, and I hope Ryle finds the coach that institute can be successful with. I think it was time for the separation for both to go their separate ways for the betterment of both!
-
Off topic, but since the Boys State Tourney is first shouldn't the draw be Saturday for Monday first round games? Not a lot of prep time if draw on Sunday, and 4 of the 8 have to play on Monday at BB&T.
-
I think there is at least 6 teams capable of winning the 8th.
I would say 7 of the 8 could win it to be honest. Simon/Spencer/Gallatin/South shoot it well that week they all could cut the nets down. Walton/Collins/Oldham known more for their defense but they could win it on that end of the floor. Henry County might not have the horses, but they do get to play at home and have a very good young sophomore. 8th Region tourney should be about as evenly matched as it has ever been. Regional Draw will be very important to those teams. Anyone know when the draw will be tomorrow?
-
Tad bit off thread, but what is the name of the nice Sophomore that Henry County has? How did he do in the finals?
-
Wow, the 9th Region Tourney is going to be a war. Highlands/Cov Cath/Conner to play a district champ (Cooper/Newport/Beechwood). Going to be a great tournament, and I could see 2 or 3 runner ups winning in the first round with the right draw. St. Henry and Dixie could be interesting tonight as well. When is the draw for the 9th?
-
Conner is going to be a tough out for one of the district winners. They have been playing very well as of late, seem to be healthy again. It amazes me to see how far Cooper has come under Coach Sullivan. Love or hate his defense style of play but all he does is be successful. The buy in that he gets from his players is outstanding.
-
Never noticed that Oldham County had won so many district titles in a row. Should be a great game with two contrasting styles. Should be a dandy, and I look for Oldham County to keep the streak alive in a low scoring affair.

I have seen a lot of basketball games this year, and I would put Campbell County on the next tier in the state under Scott County, Henry Clay, and John Hardin. I have seen all play but John Hardin (being undefeated says a lot), and Campbell County could be right there if they can get out of region again.
