I am a Louisville native, and a product of the city's Catholic school system (not a Trinity alum), and I have lived in Northern Kentucky for many years, so I have seen a nice assortment of CCHS games, and of course, I have seen the Shamrocks play countless times. I think CCHS is a wonderful program, both now, in year's past, and certainly for the near future. I believe every CCHS alum, representative, and fan should take great pride in the strength of the program. However, The difference between Trinity football, year in and year out, and every other program in the state, is quite significant. Male, as a large public school, in the largest city in the state, can compete with Trinity, though not every year. St. X, as Trinity's biggest rival, and the other big Catholic school in the city, can compete with Trinity, though not year in and year out. The rest of the state is, quite honestly, not exactly playing the same sport. Recently, the Shamrocks had an excellent offensive player, who currently plays a touch south of Chicago, that lived near several members of my family, in southern Indiana. Trinity is not presently located in southern Indiana. And while I do not have any issue, with any individual, taking advantage of their opportunities, that is what it is like to compete against Trinity; it's just different. CCHS should bask in the glory of their growing success, but... they are a football program; Trinity is an empire.

Having seen both teams in the last few weeks, I would be stunned if this game is closer than a twenty-five point difference; NCC is simply not a quality team, and more importantly, NCC has a few kiddos that I suspect will be baited into committing significant, drive-killing, penalties.
