  1. I’m not underestimating Miami because they lost to LSU. I don’t believe in Miami because they haven’t proven to me they are trustworthy. How many games did they just barely scrape by last year? There was a stretch of 4 games I believe where they won by a total of 8 points or something like that. Then they start off this year with a loss to LSU where it wasn’t as close at the final score indicated. But not only does Miami need to prove something to me, Mark Richt has to prove something to me as well. Right now I have no reason to think Miami is a good team.

But you have reason to believe that Wisconsin is?

  2. But Penn State didn’t lose and this same Wisconsin team beat this same Miami team the last time we watched them play and it was pretty convincing.

That Wisconsin team beat a injury riddled team in the Orange Bowl. Miami did not have adequate depth last year and played the bowl game without Mark Walton, Ahmmon Richard, Christopher Herndon IV, all #1 players at their position and 2 second team All ACC linebackers in Perry and Gordinier. The players that replaced them were good players but young and inconsistent. Don't underestimate Miami becasue they lost to LSU early. LSU is proving that they are better than people thought they would be.

  3. Nice win but like someone said earlier a few things to clean up. Several things went the Bengals way last night that could back to bite them. They still need to take care of the ball and manage the clock better and not waste timeouts on offense. Given that they are 2-0 and that's never a bad thing to start the season. I think this game shows just how bad Buffalo is and not much about Baltimore's questions. Take the 2 victories and move on getting ready for Newton and the Panthers on the road.

  4. Here comes the bad Bengals. Holding call on a long run first possession and false starts on 3rd in the 2nd possession to put them in deep 3rd down. Watch the lead evaporate in no time. Just hope the defense can hold off the Ravens because if they are going to beat the Ravens I think it will have to be on defense because Andy may not put them in the end zone this half.

  5. I guarantee if the Bengals run the play first down get stuffed. Ravens take time out, and now Bengals 2nd a long. People would be screaming that he should have tried to put them away and not be same old conservative marvin. Bengals had the ball on the 40 yard line. People would have been livid as usual if they took foot off the gas there and didn't try to put them away.

Always easy to second guess once it doesnt work. I'll take aggressive Marvin every day of the week over his same old 14 years of being conservative and always playing it safe by the book.

Like I said count on Marvin to do the wrong thing at the wrong time! The team has to execute but the head dummie makes the decisions on how to manage the last 2 minutes of the half. Marvin has and will probably always be terrible at clock management.

  6. I have zero problem with them being aggressive there. Usually Marvin always plays it conservative and runs the ball to get to half. It didn't work out this time, but I rather have aggressive Marvin. We know what conservative Marvin gets us at the end of the day.

With that said that happening probably will make him go back to conservative, ugh.

You mean you can usually count on Marvin to do the wrong thing at the wrong time. Terrible clock management with a 3 TD lead and little time on the clock. They get the ball to start the 2nd half and should have NEVER given Baltimore enough time to cut into the lead.

  7. My issue is they're still giving Homer and Harvey starts while sending guys like Romano to the bullpen after 2 poor outings.

This season should've been about letting the youngsters (Romano, Castillo, Mahle, Stephenson, Reed, etc) each get 25+ starts and take their lumps.

While I agree with you to some extent, taking lumps doesn't work for all pitchers. Some lose their confidence and never regain it. Reed seems to have gotten over his issues with throwing strikes and avoiding walks, Mahle, Romano and Stephenson haven't. They still want to pick around the plate instead of attacking hitters and shortening their pitch counts. I think these young guys have to learn to trust their stuff especially Castillo. He has dynamite stuff and could easily become a #1 on this staff

  8. Looks like Clemson is the team in the ACC once again will be interesting to see the Fla. State/Vir. Tech game to see if either can challenge the Tigers.

Why did you even think that they were not the best team in the ACC

  9. Agree to disagree. Especially with how high the qb market is going now. Right now having Dalton is ar a value price for the going rate of QBs. If Dalton looks more like the 2014, 2016, 2017 versions I don't see them giving him a huge pay day at the rate the market is going and will be at.

While Marvin has been positive on Dalton. Mike Brown hasnt been as vocal on his support. Even states 2 years ago they needed more consistent play from him and talked more highly about Palmer still more than Dalton. For the price they have Dalton right now is a great value though. For the price Dalton may want next wont be.

Mike Brown doesn't like change whether you think Dalton has his support or not. Look at his wardrobe, look at his head coach, look at everything he says and does. He is one boring individual that will NEVER change the way he thinks and acts.

  10. Odd schedule in that they have 2 open Fridays, April 12 and July 5. I can't remember the Reds ever having an off day on Friday. The April 12 off day is followed by 2 what are called home games against St. Louis in Monterrey, Mexico. Don't think I'll be making those home games. They do finally get Cleveland on a weekend albeit a 2 game series following the July 5 off day coming right before the All-star break.

  11. Castillo could be so good if he would challeng the strike zone like this all the time. He just has such good stuff that he doesn't need to stay away from hitters like he usually does which runs up his pitch count and cuts his days short and gives the opponent free base runners when he nibbles.

  12. I was a season ticket holder for 4 years, went to every home game and 1 road game a year. The cost never really drove me away, but living an hour plus away made for a really long day after tailgating and getting back home. My wife would go to the good weather games, but she got tired of it and we eventually started watching at home with friends or going to a friend's house or bar to watch. The cost was alot less and we were home by 4:30 after a 1 o'clock game.

I still go once or twice a year, but it's just not worth it to me cost or time wise to spend my whole day for a game. I'm a fan and always will be, but the ownership along with things mentioned above have drove me away.

and you can park in Bellevue or Newport and ride the bus for $1, drops you off right under the arena.
