Game Recap - Fort Thomas Matters Sports: More Region Wins for Bluebird Softball, Baseball

Senior night was special at the Birdcage as all 9 seniors started and got the win!! Ella Griewe took control on the mound going 4 innings and giving up 2 runs, 3 hits and 3 strikeouts. All Highlands starters recorded at lease one hit with Brooke Dill collecting 5 RBIs and Griewe with 4RBIs. What a very special night for a great group of seniors, softball players and role models to the younger girls.

Highlands bats were on fire last night collecting a total of 23 hits. Josie Daley hit 2 more home runs (8 RBI night) and I believe Brooke Dill hit her first over the fence home run. All 9 players for Highlands recorded at least 1 hit with Rachel Gabbard going 4 for 5 on the evening. Kennedy Baioni got the win for the Bluebirds.

The Bluebird bats were hot tonight as the out slugged the Pioneers. Addy Mack and Josey Daley each hit homeruns in the game tonight. Rachel Gabbard, Josey Daley, Caroline Class, Kennedy Baioni, Addy Mack, and Anna Greenwell had multiple hits for the Bluebirds tonight. Kennedy Baioni pitched an amazing game for the Bluebirds in the win!!!

Highlands started a little slow but got it rolling in the top of the 3 win a 2 run dinger by Rachel Gabbard. Gracie Schlosser went the distance on the mound pitching the shutout. She gave up 1 hit and 4 walks - striking out 6 in the game.

Highlands Bluebirds Varsity totaled 11 hits. Abby Rust, Ella Grimm, and Anna Greenwell each had multiple hits for Highlands Bluebirds. Rust went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Highlands Bluebirds in hits. Gracie Schlosser went 7 innings striking out 3 and walking 1 for the win.
