One thing is for sure, Conner will be the team to beat in the 33rd and could be the 9th region favorite next season . Ryle and Boone were senior heavy this season. Cooper played a lot of younger kids, but no match-up of Conner's class of 2017.
I know I'm biased but Ryle will be senior heavy next year as well...problem is only 2-3 of them saw significant time this season. They don't appear to have a horse like Ziggy but then again, who does. I won't say they will win this or win that but if they keep their heads on straight, might be a team that could give Conner some trouble. I think Cooper will be much better next season and 2018 as well.

With Zig, Raiders maybe wouldn't had to hit as much. We will never know. I think the coaches saw Beechwood throw their #4 in the game before and it worked, but St. Henry was just a little better than Beechwood's opponent , IMO.
I can see your point, but either way the coach is going to get blasted...if he pitches Zig and then they lose next game it's "He should have saved Zig for game 2 and pitched someone else"....no win situation but just a tough way to finish a year, not winning district or regional. Feel for the kids.

Ziggy or no ziggy, you have to hit to win and we didn't when it counted.
-
I was at the game and as close to behind the plate as possible....he called a very good game, there are always some pitches that are close and could go either way.
Not sure where the "Wouldn't allow batters to call time and step out" came from as I saw Ziggy do it at least 3 times in 2 AB's and about 3 or 4 others do it throughout the game...I disagree with the Ryle batters having to chase bad pitches too..I saw 2 guys swing 2-0 when they were down 1-0 and needing base runners..not sure the umpire is to blame for that.

I know there is some talent there....some sitting the bench and getting no coaching at all. But everyone does it differently.
-
You heard correct. Who do your summer boys play for?
I coach the Hits Elite 16u (formerly Ky Cavs/Diamond Elite)...this is Harry's 2nd year with us and Evan's 1st.

Thanks...He's worked hard and came on very strong the last 18 games or so. Finally quit thinking and just played. Wish his season would have ended on a more positive note...lol. He had the only hard hit single against Mayer who was outstanding. Picked off 2 runners at 1st but tough to be happy about something in a 12-1 loss...lol.

He is a good kid and hard worker....my son catches for Ryle JV and we see him working out constantly.
-
He is the varsity catcher....We played Beechwood twice and I saw 2 other games...none of which he played or was uniform for. I cannot say if he has pitched any other games besides those.
-
Did I just hear Beechwood took down mighty Cov Cath.....wow. Way to go! Hope my summer players (Heist and Schlinger) did well.
-
Not 100% sure but I don't believe so...Birch and 1 other at Varsity for BW.
-
Lot of good Catchers coming up in the next few years...
Beechwood with Birch & Trusty
Conner has Rabe
Ryle has McCabe and Clarkson
Cov Cath has Burke and unsure of the other C but he looks very good as well...not sure of the name but I've seen a decent catcher at St. Henry. I'm sure I'm missing some but I didn't see all the schools.
-
Ryle loses to Cov Cath 12-1....nicely pitched CG by AJ Mayer. I believe we only had 2 hits.
-
Well pitched game by Kirschler....big K to end the game with bases loaded.

There is no distinction made between sports.
There are waivers given by the KHSAA for certain situations. Most common is due to a family moving to a new district.
If you do not get a wavier you sit for one year from the time you start at the new school.
So "Case by Case"...thanks.

Can someone explain to me the transfer rules for H.S. Baseball vs. Football. I've heard so many different opinions I don't know what is fact vs. fiction. Am I right that in football they have to sit out a year? Baseball they may or may not...what are the determining factors for someone having to sit out or not.

I can't argue if any one of the 5-6 mentioned receive the award, it's just nice to see so many deserving players in this area. Just shows there is some really good baseball in NKY. Go Ryle! ;-)
