  1. Hunter must have earned a lot of college credits in high school if he already graduated. He would of been a sophomore this season. Awesome job if this is correct .

Ha Ha....I know he's not there this season but was last season...or at least had his photo taken in an Earlham Jersey.

Another Note: Marshall Rich (RYLE) is currently at Miami-Hamilton after leaving Cumberland.

  2. Boone Co’s Trey Ganns was drafted out of NKU and is in the Boston organization and Jeff Purnell is at Morehead. Was a career ending injury the reason Rasior is still not playing? Heard he was out last season due to surgery and rehab . Also , Cooper had a couple of pitchers in the 2016 class listed as playing at the next level. One was Hunter Turner and their ace that year ( name?) was rumored to be headed to Florida Gulf Coast but never saw any local kids listed on roster.

Hunter Turner was last at Earlham College...I think he graduated last year.

He was there with Eric Elkus from Dixie and currently Ian Bach (Cov Cath) is at Earlham

  3. Since it is raining and no games are being played I thought it would be interesting to get some updates on a few recent graduates....

    TC Eades

    Evan Slone

    Ricky Raisor

Couple pitchers from Boone whose names escape me right now........

How are they fairing at the next level?

    Here are some more names

    Craddock - Transy/Conner 1-4 8.87era 23 innnings

    Hartig - Transy/Campbell Co 21 innings 2.30 era

  4. What are you implying about multiple players from nky one is mine and he belongs there I sorry we don’t live in Louisville or Lexington

I think what he's saying is there are some players on this list that are not All State caliber, to which I agree...but more importantly there are numerous All State caliber players that aren't on this list and should be as they are obviously better than some on the list. It has nothing to do with Lex/Louisville...if you know baseball talent Gage Hughes, McGowan are elite D1 level players who are heads and shoulders above some on this list. I doubt he was taking a shot at your son.

But I would say, at least this season, there are 1 maybe 2 NKY schools with multiple (truly) All State level players and we all know who they are...but again, this is a "watch list" not a finalized "All State" award list.

  5. The same parents might want their kids to shoot up steroids... . What ever gets you an edge... yikes.

If someone thinks that hasn't happened recently you just need to look at the size of the kids these days. It's funny, when I was growing up in the late 70's-early 80's I may have seen one, maybe 2 kids in my entire school under the age of 18 that could grow a full beard......it amazes me how many kids, both small and large, have that capability. I'm almost 50 and cannot grow as good of a beard as some of these kids today...lol.

  6. A few years ago there was a discussion that some parents wanted to just go ahead and get their 1st TJ surgery out of the way during HS (almost like elective surgery) so it didn't come at an inconvenient time. Crazy discussion and ridiculously misplaced priorities, but reflects the perceived high likelihood of it happening anyway and the perceived routine nature of the surgery and how most kids come back from it.

If they knew the actual # of players that come back better than before surgery they wouldn't do it...all they hear about is the ML player who has the ability to take 365 days a year and do nothing but re-hab...what kids parents can dedicate to that schedule?..not many. And any so called Dr. providing that surgery as an elective should have his license taken away.

  7. I think there is a middle ground here. In your earlier posts, you were talking about "one way" commitments where a coach can't stop a kid from saying he has committed to School X. That's completely understandable and I doubt anyone on here would consider that a "D1 offer."

In the middle, there is the "unofficial offer" that is communicated by School X. While they don't have to follow through on it AND it can be subject to meeting clearing house and other requirements, most on here would consider that a "D1 Offer" if it is coming from School X. The reality is a coach is not going to get very far in recruiting if he's sending out a ton of these "unofficial offers" and then pulling them when it comes to signing time. Word gets around. If School X has provided an "unofficial offer," they are likely to keep it out there unless something major changes.

Finally, official offers are as has been described above.

I think we are on the same page...but I bet you'd be surprised how many "offers" to 8th, 9th and 10th graders are not there when it's time to sign on the dotted line at the end of the JR year. Go back and check how many "commitments" actually show up on current rosters...for many varying reasons I'm sure but some may be offers that were pulled.
