If Taylor county didn't recruit like they do they would just be mediocre . Gaines moved from bowling green area, Sloan from lville ... Ohh wait morgenson moved to play there last year .
Give me a break they should have been giving sanctions like cordia
Its only a matter of time before the hammer comes down. A program can not continue to blatantly break the rules and get away with it. The KHSAA seems to have taken the stance of imposing the harshest of penalties or none at all.

mason Faulkner ...take him off that team and they may win 3-4 games..
Agree 100%
If you put Goodin on Caverna and Faulkner on Taylor Co... Would it change the outcome of how the teams perform? Or how the votes will fall for 5th Region POTY or Mr. Basketball?

Is there more to being a good basketball player than points scored? If not just add it up at the end and hand out some trophy's.
I think it is a combination of everything. If you were to pick one 5th Region player to lead your team who would it be? What player gives their team the best chance to win by making everyone around them better? Or by putting the team on their back when called upon. Its definitely not an award that is based solely on a single factor.

I know the records are close right now. But Taylor Co seems to have figured it out lately. Along with getting Gaines eligible.
I think this has to a lot to do with TC figuring it out lately. Add a player like that to any team in the region and they will surely improve.

I know it's an individual honor, but I've always believed that the record of the team should factor. Goodin would be my pick.
Green County 15-8
Taylor County 12-7
Caverna 11-10
I wouldn't say there is much to differentiate between their records. I guess the biggest question is what would each of these teams look like without their star players.

Who do you have? The two front runners have to be Goodin and Faulkner. But a case could be made for Compton at Green Co as well. All three are top 20 in the state in scoring.
#1 Faulkner 35.4 PPG
#3 Compton 29.0 PPG
#16 Goodin 24.1 PPG

Honestly I could see the award going to Williams, Goodin, or Faulkner. All three are very deserving.
Toughest place to play in the 5th Region
in KY Boys Basketball (High School)

Which fan base do you think gives their team the biggest home court advantage. Based on gym, fans, atmosphere, loudness, etc.
