  1. I agree Huddleston is a very good player. That said, I think putting him up against young men that are 3-4 years older and more physically developed than he is would be a mistake and a disservice to him.

There are plenty of young men 3-4 years older than him that are not as physically developed or as skilled as he.

Can't imagine dad or this coaching staff putting him in a position of great risk. Tons of upside long term. Would not expect to see him on freshman team. Definitely tons of JV time with some varsity time highly likely.

  2. After checking our fields for the JV Tournament' date=' I past by the Birdcage (7:50 a.m.) to see how the field looked.......it had some standing water on it, but not a lot. Hopefully somebody can play a game or two today.[/quote']

Drove by a little while ago.

Looks like a small army out there with rakes, shopvacs, and a big roller??

  3. Saw yesterday that the Bluebirds took a significant hit with the loss of senior Haley Coffey to injury. She has been a key player for them, an incredible asset on defense, and someone you don't want on base.

One of the best shortstops in the state and definitely the best in nky.

Was expecting there to be some chatter on here about it.

    • What does this do to the Birds?
    • Is there a "next person up" to go to? She's locked that spot down for years.
    • Does this force Graybill back on the field?
    • Does the gap between the region favorite and the rest of the pack narrow or totally disappear?

It has to be good news to some of the other teams. Not that anyone wishes for injury or would be happy about someone being injured. - :stop::stop:not what I meant. So no need to go there.:no:

BTW Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  4. Didn't they use to show the NCAA games on the TVs in the entrance/concession areas?

A year or two ago I was told that they cannot show the NCAA games on the TVs due to licensing issues. Maybe because it's at Rupp vs a non-college location?

Maybe they consider it a re-broadcast?

Maybe it's just the ultra risk adverse folks at KHSAA heard it might be a problem and didn't want to take a chance?

  5. ALL A Thread:

Are all the 9th region teams okay with having it at Florence Freedom? Heard some people/coaches say they don't like the turf for safety reason.

I've heard coaches say it's like playing on carpet with cement and kids are afraid to slide

I'm getting confused... Is it too cold or too hard?

Do we need bigger "safe zones" too? Like the ones that are all the rage on college campuses?
