  1. It is difficult to have open discussion with this thread title without getting into rule 4 violation territory, but I'll try. My understanding is that HC had one or more of their program coaching staff also coaching AAU. The High School staff then invited kids from the AAU program to open gyms and camps at HC. Absolutely nothing wrong so far. Infact, IMO, if you are committed to developing a winning program, this is a good business practice. Catholic schools have to market themselves in order to survive and this is again, IMO, an extension of a Catholic Schools attempt to market themselves. Again, no issue here.

    Now to the controversial part.

Keep in mind this has not been substantiated, but is merely my understanding of what happened and there are those on here that can correct me if there are errors in my understanding. It has been asserted that there are student athletes getting financial aide that is not generally available to the student population at large. That is the issue that has raised the ire of some.

The rules are you may not have kids from other HS or others feeder schools participate in open gyms, workouts or practices without permission from that players; AD, Coach or Principal. Must be in writing that it's ok for them to attended, Word of mouth or an ok you can go is not good enough. If a school allows them to play, invited or not, without written permission then that school is in violation. You may only work with your kids in your HS or your feeder schools period. without permission from other schools other kids can't be there. The diocese may allow it because kids can go where ever I guess. As long as the kids that attend a public school get written permission there is no issue. If they didn't get permission then a bylaw has been broken and a punishment should be handed down.

  2. I don't see how anyone can start this thread or support it with out offering some proof. And what I read when I paid my money and joined this site says that this thread should have never been started period. But ok it's here. And in a court of law you have the right to know your accuser.... So if this should ever go that far I hope those that are not afraid to accuse are not afraid of revealing themselves because you will have no choice. And false accusations can be dealt with in a court of law....

I'm sure a bunch of schools got together and just made it all up.

  3. Agree, same play different year. The roots wither like I said. You grow or die. The game changes everyday. Keep up and teach it, encourage it. Be amazed on what your players can do for the team/game. Don't except less. Again I will say 9 pts a game won't beat many in region play.

Sometimes it better not to open your mouth and let people think your an idiot rather than open your mouth and confirm it.

  4. Going to take a shot at the 9th region top 5 at the half way point.

    1. Holmes- couple games I have watched them they seem to be working on their half court game and not pressing as much, which should help in the post season.

    2. Ryle- big big big and are well coached. If the guard play holds up they will be very tough out in the post season.

    3. Highlands- I have watched them a few times and it's always a different group of players. Hard to tell what they are until they get healthy.

    4. ND- Defense and rebounding is what is carrying this team, others seemed to be scoring which could make them dangerous in post season.

    5. Conner- team is dangerous because they can score and score a lot. If you run into them on a night when they get hot watch out.

    5. NCC- Coach Stoll has them improving and the All A win moves them up.
