Benched

It does not matter who started or finished. It is our jobs as parents to teach our children the meaning of respect and their demeanor on the floor, in the hallway, locker rooms, etc., anywhere during sporting events. if there is a problem or words exchanged, there should have been an appropriate channel or parent/coach discussion with the adult. But never what I have witnessed at this game or the Boone County game for that matter, where there was cursing on the floor by two players who didn't get their way. Afterwards, they actually tried to fight their own coaches. Unbelievable! Its all all about character and the rules shouldn't change based on who it is. Because the yelling at her own coach from the floor, then the opposing coach from the court would not be allowed from any other player, (with the exception of 1) that I've noticed. Lets not make anymore excuses than we've already heard this season. These things should not be happening and the ego is a big problem. For example;McClendon and Tucker played for each other only this entire tournament only passing to each other the first two games (blatantly ignoring teammates yelling for ball that were wide open), so only they could score, (hence the reason for low scoring) until they needed help tonight against NCC. Anyone at this tournament was witness to that. They didn't even feel like their own teammates were important in this tournament, so why should she care about the other team? FYI, Since there was big talk in the stands about this selfish behavior the first two games, we were informed by a parent that all tournament teams are selected by total points or highest scorers. Not rebounds, not hard nose defense (which is what keeps them winning), not those jumping on the ground for lose balls, just highest points, period. I'm assuming this was the reason for the blow up last night, since beechwood made it impossible for her to score, so lashing out was probrably the result of that. But still very unsportsmanlike and disrespectful.
