What is the status of #11 RB Shorter? If it is true that he tore the PCL and is unable to play, huge loss for JH.
-
They don't have the depth or the guards to win it.
If Owen doesn't win, who would be your pick?
-
I don't think Owen County will win the 8th.
If not Owen, then who?
-
This honestly might be unwarranted hype/overrating, but after seeing Owen County play in the summer and early fall, I think they should be top 10, at the very least top 15. Seeing their team play really silences everyone who thought that this team is just Carson Williams. He is obviously the main reason they are the favorite in the 8th, but they would still be an 8th region contender without him.

I absolutely will see Owen County this year.
How big are their guards?
Toftness and Mcdonald are pretty decently sized. Around 6'0~ for each.
-
Shelby doesn't pass too often but when they do they can make some big plays and catch an unsuspecting defense off guard (see Bullitt East game.)
-
According to KHSAA.org, John Hardin gives up nearly 3500 yards rushing on the year. They could be in for a rude awakening against option-heavy Shelby.
-
Everyone has always taken their own. Let's get back to football, besides SW, will this be JH's toughest game?
Most Likely. The only team that they've played that's even close to Shelby on a talent scale (obviously excluding SW) is Central Hardin, who admittedly aren't too far behind.

I'm pretty sure the cheerleaders always rode on a bus with another group. They never rode with the football team (pretty sure they never rode with any male team). I don't know how large the squad is now but it was in the 20s years ago. Paying a driver and .50 a mile is tough to do for 20 something people. Even more so when they don't get a gate to help fund them.
it's common in Shelbyville. Last year Collins had a pep bus to virtually every away basketball game in the playoffs

Do you have a source/link with more detail? I heard that the SCHS principal announced it over the morning announcement but that it was tentative/speculative.
-
I would say SK, but they're record makes them seem like a favorite without reading between the lines.
-
Yes, Spencer traveled well that night. You forget their are 2 HS in Shelby now so crowd size for a 4A school is about right. They will travel well
Recieved word that some Collins families will come out to support the Rockets since many of them attended the school before the split.

John Hardin and its current bleacher configuration is a ticking time bomb.It is only a matter of time until there is an incident in the stands, such as a brawl, that causes the schools administration to act on placing visitor stands on the opposite side of the field.
There should be a bylaw requiring Home and Visitors to be seated on seperate sides of the field. Nobody should have to deal with that.
-
Shelby would get dominated and that's no fun. :lol2:
-
I really wish FS can upset South Warren. This would be a heck of a matchup for Shelby to play.
-
They should travel real well.
Rumors going around that the Shelby County Student Section convinced administration to set aside a bus to transport the students from Shelbyville to Elizabethtown. Certainly hope that it's more than a rumor.
-
IF, and ONLY IF Shelby defends against the pass MUCH better than they did against Collins, they should win.

Plenty of taunting from both sides on twitter.. I definitely hope all of Shelbyville shows up, even if it does make traffic a nightmare.
-
Yes, but winning the toughest district arguably in all 6 classes, with momentum on their side, I believe it is possible. It will definitely take 110% effort though.
-
Weren't John Wall and Demarcus Cousins the top 2 recruits in 2009?
-
Our 2013 team was very run-of-the-mill. Manica was only a sophomore and Zach Shipley had just graduated the year before. They had a so-so record of 6-5 while getting blown out in the second round by John Hardin. Our best win was against a barely decent Henry County team.
-
Shelby County. This is the best team they've had since the 1990's and if they can upset SW, they should be hoisting the trophy in Bowling Green.

Is Simon Kenton a sleeper in 6A? They have been ranked fairly high all year but does anyone think they have a chance to win it all?
I think that while they are not quite as good as Male or Trinity, the fact that they are undefeated somewhat eliminates them from 'sleeper' status. However, if they do happen to win it all, it would probably be an upset.

Lost some seniors, but we have some talented underclassmen, including two freshmen who had significant minutes last year as 8th Graders on varsity.
