Shelby County and Shelbyville combined to win 10 of the 12 8th Region titles from 1966-78 including 2 state championships.
-
That's the only thing you've said in eight pages that I agree with.
I agree to disagree.
-
One scored 31, North Bullitt scored 7, and it took collins two games to score 21.
When your leading three receivers have 15,14, & 11 catches that's almost a catch a game it doesn't look like you throw the ball much! It will be a great game can't wait to get to kickoff I hate the wait..
Hope both teams are enjoying Turkey day practice this is a special occasion!
I'm gonna make a bold statement and prediction the winner of this game will be the 4a State Champion! This should be a great battle!
I do agree that whoever wins tomorrow on the west side will most likely win it all.

I'm going to just say it without fear of the consequences:
South Warren Is Overrated.
They are certainly a good football team, but they aren't miles ahead of everyone else in 4A like everyone makes them out to be.
Decent SOS, very familiar offense to Shelby, I think the road ends here for SW.

Borrowing this idea from the football thread. Drop some names of current and former D1 players from your school. I'll start us off in my ideal format.
Shelby County
A.J. Slaughter, '06, WKU
Terry Davis, '68, WKU
Mike Casey, '66, Kentucky
Charles Hurt, '79, Kentucky
Darryl Hicks*, '13, Boston College
Matt Simons, '94, Louisville
James Gordon IV*, '16, Toledo
Mike Marshall, '81, Kansas
(Hicks played 2 varsity seasons, 8th and 9th Grade, 08-10 before transferring to Trinity. Gordon transferred to Simeon (IL) after playing varsity grades 8-11.)
Bill Busey, '66, Kentucky
Norris Beckley SR., '79. EKU

Fulton City vs. Ashland Blazer :lol2:

At least half of the stadium at JH, if not more was Blue&Gold. Shelby fans travel very well.
-
Tommy, how do you think the rain will effect this game?
Rain obviously didn't affect them against a *decent* North Bullitt team
-
Shelby also has excellent run defense, it's passing defense that they struggle with. They should be fine against rush-heavy SW
-
Why will there so many flags early? Guess things I have read about SW and some of their games are true. Their is always an argument about this and that going on.
Except for central Hardin, shelbys schedule way more stronger than SW.
The Franklin County game was a fluke. Horrible weather, inconsistent QB play, and lack of support from Shelby fans, and it still only came down to a field goal. If the Rockets can avoid turnovers and penalties, play the same kind of defense as they did against John Hardin, and let the option offense do their thing, I think Shelby has a good chance to upset the Spartans, better than most expect.
-
(might be biased because I'm from Shelbyville) but I'll take Shelby County in a close one. The players thrive on being underdogs. Fans should travel well, as always. Counting down the hours until kickoff.
-
I would really hope their isn't an official on here trying to find information on a game.
Based on what I am hearing about the rain forecast of .25 inch prior to KO and then another .25 during the evening hours on a crappy field with 2 good D's seems to make it into a very low scoring game.
I certainly hope the forecast changes. Shelby County does NOT work well in the rain (Franklin County)

@AnonRef Shelby can Run it very well. South Warren does too. Neither team passes much. Both teams excel on defense. Should be closer than most imagine... assuming you do your job as a ref properly. :lol2::lol2::lol2:
-
Who wins and why? Both teams riding waves of momentum. Shelby Co. scoring 40+ per game and SW only giving up 5 per game. Should be interesting.
-
Franklin-Simpson over South Warren. Now that'sa BOLD prediction.
-
7:30 tonight cannot come soon enough. I'm anxious to see how this game turns out after the near 50/50 split in the polls.
-
Darryl Hicks, Shelby County/Trinity, Boston College.
-
E-town, CH and JH all playing.. prayers to Hardin County sports fans trying to keep up with stats and scores. LOL
-
25 hours to kickoff. Time for some score predictions.
SC 28
JH 21
Key to Shelby victory;
Don't get caught in the moment.
Don't let the name intimidate you.
Get off to a good start and settle into the game.
and DO NOT turn over the football.

Shelby County @ John Hardin cheering on my Rockets!!
-
Zuberer, and it's not even close.

Losing a lot of seniors, in addition to James Gordon. Manica will lead the team this year.

3 starters out for Shelby but still must be very frustrating for Coach Couch and Co.
