  1. Did note NewCath and Holmes coaches in house and one Ben Weyer (celebrity status). Just joking but Man is he playing great!!!

It's not unusual to see hhs or nc players at the others games - in all sports.

There is a weird love/hate relationship between the two schools.

Probably best described like a sibling rivalry.

  2. You should really re-consider what you share on here. The above helped no one especially the 3 on the floor.

    Yah. Agreed.

Some of the nuts on here will read into and twist anything around.

Nothing in the refs comment gave ANY indication that score or anything else went into the actual call/ no call. The after game comment was more retrospective. The 2nd part about score and covington being the one on the ground was more like a half attempt at being funny.

  3. Pretty sorry excuse used by the official. Since when does the score determine when an intentional foul is called or not? Weak sauce. You are just letting a kid continue to attempt to instigate things without being called on it.

My understanding is Ben was hit with elbows in the face area as was Hebel a week prior.

Should have clarified, he wasn't either of the 2 closest to the play.

  4. Weyer had to break-away dunks that were cut short bad VERY HARD fouls by Cam Covington that should have been called intentional. After the 1st one Covington was waving his arms back and forth and shaking his head "no". The 2nd one was worse than the 1st and Coach Dawn was not a happy camper to say the least. Weyer is VERY fortunate that he was not hurt.

Spoke to a ref after the game and asked about that 2nd one.

He said it should have been called intentional excessive contact, but at that point NewCath was up a ton and Covington was the one hurt.

  5. I don't have an issue with how they play. I loved playing physical in the paint. The issue is that with the over physical play is that they are being called for it and people are complaining. There is nothing wrong with physical basketball but there is a right way and wrong way to play physical. Either you know how or you don't.

Seen quite a few games and teams this season. I don't think HHS plays any more physical that some of the other teams out there. At this point, I'm thinking it's quite the opposite. Word is out that the Birds have a reputation and the refs buy into it.

The wrong way to play physical is put on a HHS uniform. The right way to play physical is the play physical against HHS.

Maybe some of the other schools should get a few of their basketball stars to help toughen up their football teams.

  6. I don't understand why anyone is making a big deal about this. Most all of the catholic high schools offer scholly's based on results of the entrance exams. None of these scholarships take in consideration extra curricular activities to earn the award.

Is this just someone trying to stir up :poop:?

Doubt guru is trying to stir up :poop: but this should effectively do it.

If that were the intent, using the same info for HC would be more effective.

  7. Believe HC was up by as many as 15...maybe more in the middle of the 3rd and allowed HHS to slowly creep back in. Playing big game the night prior, along with sauna gym conditions probably didn't help.

HHS admins should check the new floor's condition under Listerman's feet- never seen such absurd stomping/foot pounding antics on a basketball sideline--Surprised the officials tolerated it.

It's a new floor. Definitely fine.

HC that out of shape that the warm gym effected them. Maybe HHS had special uniforms designed for the gym to keep them cooler and get an advantage.

  8. How was NDA's coach? I heard he was throwing some stink eye towards the HHS bench every once in a while.

He was watching and listening for the calls/signals coming from the highlands bench.

Never seen a coach calling yelling out the other teams play louder than the coach running the play.

He definitely did plenty of scouting after that first loss
