  1. It is all about getting the athletes on the field. When they get 40-50 players on the sidelines then they will start competing again. They have the athletes. I counted 26 players total in a game that i watched last year.

  2. I believe parents do what they feel is necessary for there kids. I was started in school early because my parents had trouble affording daycare. I struggled every year. I also played against kids 2 years old but it wasn't that bad. Kids are more mature but these was the same kids i played with on the streets anyway. I didnt hold my kids back but wish i had not for any reason but to give them 1 more year before they had to enter the work force. Once you leave high school life is never the same. What parent wouldn't want to have your child live with you 1 more year. I also believe it gives you another year to coach them up for the game of life. Does it help them with sports and academics absolutely. Iife isnt fair so the whole no kid left behind in school and equal playing time is setting these kids of for failure in life. I believe the older you are gives you the best chance entering college or the work force.

  3. I did see highlands last year and he might have thrown more interceptions than any quarterback in NKY. He got his D-1 offer before the season even started. The same thing happened with pike he couldn't read a defense at all. I watch pike throw 5 interception in the second half against NCC and give that game away. Both had the size but it was all on potential. I dont have the stats but i would bet there was at least 5 quarterbacks in NKY with better stats than Highlands quarterback.

  4. I totally disagree. College's base most of the D-1 players on potential. D-1 schools don't need you to start as a freshman they need you as a Jr. They are looking mostly for size. I will use 2 examples the Pike boy from Dixie and the Highlands quarterback last year. Neither was even close to the best in NKY but both D-1 offers from a couple camps and their size as quarterbacks. D-1,2 or 3 shouldn't matter. What you should look at is the competition that each players is going against.

  5. To answer your question yes. In 5A and 6A you need alot of juniors and seniors on the field to win championships. If you have more sophomore s than seniors starting you will get destroyed playing with the big boys. However if you are playing in the smaller divisions like 1A and 2A you can get away with a lot of underclassmen.

  6. I love how people watch kids at the freshman and JV level and think they are good enough to play varsity. Varsity is a completely different animal. These arent 14,15,16 year olds. These are young men that work year round to hurt you when they hit you. That is why you always see seniors winning the starting job at quarterback they are bigger and stronger. My guess would be Gosney.
