  1. The best teams have a fitness program/plan that includes game play. I think the key to winning the State Championship is depth. The goal should be to get all the players ready to step up for the games. They, as a team, will only be ready when the level of trust is deep. The coach will need to be have trust that he can sub deep into the roster without a loss of quality. The players will have to trust that a player off the bench can run with the best/rest. Recall the Trinity game: Trinity subbed early and often and with 15 minutes to go the CCH boys were gassed and Trinity brought the horses: tempo increased, level of aggression increased and the CCH team seemed wilted. That's what Bowling Green did to Scott last year in the Championship. Staying thin is a losing proposition (this factor is different in the higher levels of the game because all teams have restricted subs)...from my experience. Fewer subs is a risky proposition for this year and years to come.
