Excuse me, that should have stated withdrew instead of not getting hired, and that's a savvy play up there with resigning from the position before getting fired.

“You mean I’m not getting the job that I applied for? Fine. I don’t want the job I applied for!! I’m taking myself out of contention.” -Probably how it went 🤣

    I felt bad for Levis.

I think the team that takes him tomorrow will be stoked.

I would still take Hooker over him, but nobody is asking me. I do think they’ll both go in the first 10 picks of the 2nd. Barring trades, Titans, Raiders, Seahawks, Rams, and Saints are all there. 2nd round is a lot less risk. Shorter contract, way less money. And for the player, a lot less pressure.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.  Did he apply for the male job and then decline, or did Male go to him with the offer and he declined?  I'm pretty sure if he wanted to step up it would be no problem.

I don’t know if he applied or not. But generally, a coach of his level doesn’t apply. They have the conversation, and then once the job is offered, they apply so the Ts are crossed.

Sure seems like Boo Brewer's name keeps surfacing in a lot of these vacant job threads, but he is never selected.  I would have to think if Boo wanted to leave Bardstown, he would have been gone along time ago.

I’m not so sure he’s never been selected. Bardstown has been great to him, and for him. Some pretty credible people told me that turned down Male before Haworth got it.

I see St. John’s going hard after Pitino.

And apparently there’s mutual interest. Pitino is about legacy. Imagine if he can make St Johns relevant. I’d say this is locked up in the next week after Iona is finished with the tourney.

No knock on Tim Couch, but throwing the ball as often as Leslie County did was an anomaly. Countless quarterbacks today, while perhaps not as good as Couch, are throwing it just as much. Seeing Couch was like seeing a unicorn for most of the country in 1995.

The difference was, they actually threw the ball down the field then. Not like now where a QB might complete 20 balls for 170 yards. Couch was an absolutely elite athlete. The state of Kentucky had Chris Redman, and then a year later, Tim Couch. Mid 90s we’re a fun time.

These last two cases might give the Browns an out on the contract. They don’t seem to have any interest in working that angle. Baker Mayfield and the Browns agreed that Baker not attend team workouts.

Actually, it’s doesn’t. And they can’t work that angle even if they want to. They’re stuck. Andrew Brandt was on McAfee yesterday talking about it. He said the contract reads like it was written by Watson’s agent. They have to pay him fully the first years, regardless of he plays or not. They can then void the last two. But the damage is done. No morals clause. No safety net. They traded their draft assets. The Browns will always figure out a way to be the Browns…

Just wondering why he was let go by Bullitt East and why is a coach that was fired at one school suddenly a great hire at another?

Probably because the principal is a football guy and got tired of hearing about him putting out job feelers every year. He is a great hire. I’m close to someone that coaches in Lexington. He told me - couple months ago that he’d heard Atchley was locked in at Lafayette.

Unless you're caught on film punching your girlfriend in an elevator.

And even them the League reinstated him.  No takers, though.

True. But at that point he was declining. 3 ypc in his last season. A lot of carries on that body. He did workout for a few teams. Eagles, Texans, Lions at least. But yes. No takers.

  10. 3 sides to this story. His, theirs, and what really happened. If AB really got mistreated, the Bucs should be penalized. But he has so little credibility at this point. Hard to take him seriously. One thing about the NFL though, all of the sidelines are mic’d up. It’ll be interesting when audio starts “leaking” as to what was actually said. Putting out that statement is going to put the Bucs on the defensive. This thing could get a lot uglier.

  11. This thread is too long to read through, so if someone has already said this, I apologize. I think the difference in the game was so simple. The trenches. Cincinnati couldn’t keep Bama’s D-line out of the backfield, and their D-line couldn’t get any type of push to disrupt the run. I love the way the secondary, outside LBers, and special teams played. And hopefully Coach Luke can keep building. Overall, Alabama is the most talented team in the country. But there wasn’t a massive gap anywhere except on the lines. Pierce had that drop in the end zone on a ball that he usually comes down with. That was a momentum killer. But other than that, Ridder never had time to let any type of play develop.
