There's a saying in the military: Respect the rank, not the person. You can obviously respect both. I respect the office of the presidency, however, I don't have respect for POTUS as a person. Personally Science, I'm of the mindset that people automatically get my respect until they lose it.

He did say we will get tired of winning. I know I am. :sour:

I tried but that dude is intolerable. :lol2:
At least he knows what a jerk he is.
I'm afraid Maher has gone too far down the rabbit hole. That Jim Jefferies and Piers Morgan clip was disappointing. This what a lot of the left has become, a lot of yelling and name calling and not trying to persuade people.

How did it go? Was there a good debate? Were both sides presented well?

Good to see POTUS reacting maturely by tweeting "this so-called judge" this morning.
FDR had his fire side chats, Trump has twitter lol. Social media is one aspect that helped Trump win the election, so I don't see him letting up. The thing I find most funny about it is that Trump is the anti-pc crusader, yet one could argue he some thin skin.

Since PP92's inner petty crocker is out, I might as well say this: Kobe sucks, Lakers suck, Duke sucks, and go Celtics! :ylsuper:

Right now they only have the 4 days before the Super Bowl. So I'm hoping we get their best effort and they win the permanent slot. It will be interesting to see which personalities get face time. Obviously Pres, KFC and Big Cat but I'm guessing we will get others.
Glenny balls!

Secretary Mattis is against it, isn't he?
Yep and apparently Trump will let Mattis override his opinion. I hope that's the case more often than not.
-
I believe he said today that he thinks it works, and he disagrees with General Mattis on it, but that General Mattis gets to make the call.
Trump says Mattis will 'override' his own views on torture - NY Daily News
One thing about Pres. Trump is that he is impressionable. I don't know if I love or hate that about him. Sec. Of Defense Mattis is a very reasonable and logical man, as long as Trump has him whispering in his ear for advice I can sort of have a sigh of relief.

I think its great that you guys deflect deflect deflect on this thread. Its very hurtful to know Trumps rating is going up up up. Facts. Facts. Facts. And I will bet you guys never thought it was coming. Well as a matter of fact you all never thought he would beat Hillary either. No way he wins says Clyde and the rest of you. And while you bring it up Clyde, 538 has caused you and McPapa many a nightmare and I am still laughing, as is over half of this board. We love it. we PM each other about it and laugh all the time. Its hilarious. And the jokes not on Jesse, its on you guys. Jesse and everyone else on here were ridiculed at the notion that Trump had a chance to win. Guess what? Jokes not on us. I would make light of threads like this if I were you all to. Deflect deflect deflect. I love it. :lol2:
Why are you speaking in 3rd person? lol

Again, I'll ask the same question to you that no one will answer whenever I see a post like the one you just made.
Why do people want Trump to commit the same mistakes the Obama administration made?
Because he's the QB for the red team.

Ashley could have done more to communicate this young lady's message by dropping the Scarlett O'Hara interpretation. Obviously, it did not carry over when our discussion today is not the message but how it was delivered. Ironically, the conversation here also turned to Ashley's looks and whether anybody would kick her out of bed so what does that tell us about the equality and respect of women still today?
In men's defense, only one guy kept bringing up her looks. I'll give you hint, it's the one that wants every seat in congress held by women.

Thank you for acknowledging that. Just because it's illegal doesn't mean women always receive equal pay for equal work. They usually don't. You are correct. Thinking otherwise is denying reality.
Than prove me wrong Science, I promise i'm not a close minded guy. Why am I denying reality? Actually show me something that counter's my point. Types of jobs, hours/overtime, positions and locations are variables that easily explain the disparity in paychecks, not just with gender, but with races as well. Show me something, an article, a debate online. I'm not one of those guys that won't listen because you posted from a certain news source (Infowars is the exception). It's one thing to tell me I'm wrong, but to not even back up your claim and just say HOGWASH isn't gonna cut it for me.

By the way, using the same "wage gap" concept that people have fallen for, white men make "less" on the dollar than asian men in America. I sure as hell know that people are not gonna say that white men are less privileged than asian men in America.

Equal Pay Act guarantees that there is no discrimination of women in the workplace about as much as the Civil Rights Act guarantees that blacks no longer receive any unequal treatment. We've come aways, that's true, but we have a lot further to go. There are women all over this country doing the same work as the men they work beside, and having equal or better credentials than said men, but getting paid less.
For doing the exact amount of work? Different variables science and once again it is illegal to pay women less. If a women works the exact same amount of hours and does the same job as a man and gets paid less, she should sue since it's illegal.

Once again, do you have any counter argument? Still waiting...

I wouldn't go that far Ref, but there are some sick individuals that would love to see any President hurt because of their political affiliation or any other motives. I would like to see not just this forum, but our entire country get past the "they did it as well" argument. I just don't see how that benefits anybody. Don't get me wrong, if someone says a prior administration didn't do something call them out, but I can't see our country moving forward if we only criticize the other side and can't look in the mirror.
