Did anyone see this game? I expected Scott Co. to blow out SK to be honest.
I did... Scott County went on a 9 - 0 run to start the game and never got any closer. Sk fought hard and never quit as Scott County kinda backed off little. Scott County is a good solid team. At one point SC was up 20+/- but SK kept fighting.

Congrats, good ball player even better kid.
-
Scott County is really good not sure if they are Ryle good but they are good. Congrats to Maggie Jones she joined the 1000 point club tonight.

The problem with a 100 to 2 victory is poor sportsmanship, which used to matter to most people. Its all about how you make adjustments in the blow out. Ryle started subbing the deep bench in Q2 and the starters saw less than 5 minutes in the second half. It comes down to respecting your opponent.
Do you really think that in any of these blow out wins the winning coach kept their starters in? The answer is no they played subs as well. Subs that seldom get the opportunity to play. So in the name of sportsmanship they should just hold the ball? My point is you can respect your opponent in a 37 point loss the same as you can in a 57 point loss.

Confused on your post... are you promoting teams to run up the score?
I get it, Cooper kids got drilled either way and an L is an L but not worth Ryle going out and putting up 100 on a bad team.
I'm just saying if Ryle would have scored 20 more points what's the difference. Every time we see a REALLY lopsided score people want to get crazy acting towards the winning coach. My point is does anyone really think the cooper kids are happy they only scored 71 and not 91? Did Ryle have to score 71? No they could have stopped playing like other's think you should. My point is if the game is on your schedule then play the game regardless of outcome. Just play if it ends up 100 to 2 then it's just a 100 to 2 game. Cooper will be really good in a couple years maybe they can return the favor.
-
Thank goodness Ryle didn't score more.I'm sure the kids at Cooper feel so much better only getting beat by 34.
-
Campbell County did beat them last year with a buzzer beater.
I was the game with Campbell last year and the Ryle game this year. That was a great game last year but a little bit different team from MND this year.
-
They held Chisom to ONE point? Wow -- that is either crazy impressive for Holy Cross, or terribly unlucky (if she just had an off night) for the Cru.
Congrats to Jade Simpson on winning MVP; that is a great honor!
Holding the entire team to 36 is equally impressive. St. Henry averaging 58 a game.

Moving along my friend. Dont have time for petty back and forth. Have a nice day Double D. Out!
Good, because you are having a hard time keeping up.
-
I have. Seems most take my position Double D. Relax and have a nice day.
Apparently not. We share the same position read my 2nd post in the thread.

Give me a break. Coach Richey doesnt run the score up on anyone. The margin of victory is because Highlands is one of the better teams in the 9th and Brossart isn't so good in the 10th. Ridiculous to have your team back off anytime before the 4th quarter especially girls
Maybe you should read all the post before posting.

MND’s 2022 KK Brandsford is a heck of a ball player. Ryle will have to contain her to have a shot at winning this one.
Hopefully it turns out to be a good game!
Should be a good game. I watched MND once last year and early this year I've seen Ryle a bunch. I do find it kinda strange you think with Hoefling & Marshall that stopping Brandsford is the key. Either way hope it's a good one. Last time MND played a top ranked KY team it was a great game with Campbell winning.

No way would Campbell County girls basketball have the authority to dictate other sports seeds. If Calvary did not want to play the game just don't play it's pretty simple. Someone from Calvary had to schedule this game with someone from Campbell. No games are just automatically scheduled. I was at a school for a few years that had Covington Latin in the district we never played them.

Maybe highlands wanted to get up by 30 so there would be a running clock and then the game would be shortened. I don’t think winning by 30 is that big a deal
Yeah me either. Nor do I think winning by 50 or 75 is a big deal. My comment was a carry over from another thread.
-
Looks like Highlands should have worked on holding the ball in this one. A 36 point win is just not acceptable in today's world.
-
I would say that 60 points is definitely enough. You do not let your girls shoot until they have ran offense for three minutes without turning it over. It is really easy to tell the bottom of the bench to not shoot, you say "Girls, we are up by 60. We will not embarrass anyone. You are not allowed to shoot unless you've ran offense for three minutes without turning it over."
Ok..
-
Maybe they shouldn’t seed the district. Then they wouldn’t have to play each other.
That's true but I watched two very lopsided games last night in the 9th all A. My point is even if we do a blind draw, seed or go to a classification we are going to always have games like this. I just don't think we can blame the winning coach/team. Teams that aren't competitive within their districts and know it do not have to play these games.
-
Now that you mentioned it, it would have been a great opportunity for Campbell County to work on that part of their game.
At what point is enough enough? 20 points 30? At what point do you tell your bench that practices everyday and rarely gets in a game not to play? Or even your starters when do you say to them just stop playing they have had enough?
-
Just curious what do you all suggest they do? Hold the ball?
-
Nice win surprised by the low score.
-
Notre Dame at 7-1 starting four freshman is a little surprising. Matches there total number of wins from last year.
I will say the team looks better than I thought they would. Last year after 8 games the Panda's were 4 & 4 with losses to Sk 8th region champ Dupont Manual 7th region champ Male and Scott the 10th region runner up. Schedules are a little different to be comparing this year to last year.

I agree with you a 100%. A lot of kids come to NDA because of sports. It is a good education but you can get that elsewhere without dealing with this coach.
-
Yep
Then it is a good hire for you but a bad hire for NDA.
-
The man won a state championship. Enough said. Great hire!!
And Rick Pitino won a national championship. Do you want him running your program?

I was there and Sk was easily handled by SC. Game was never close SC got off to 9 - 0 start and never looked backed. I might mention I was rooting for SK.
