  1. Well having a larger NKY base on this site, playing a team from hundreds of miles away from a area with much fewer members on this site pretty much tells all. It has been a large Bw poll advantage every time they have played going back to 2002. I am actually shocked its this close

Not true! You only have to go to the thread from earlier in the year to show Mayfield was projected to win by voters.

If Beechwood and Mayfield played this week who would win? - View Poll Results

Now in 2011 I'd bet you are right.

  2. I'm curious if the kicking game could hurt Beechwood. Sounded like too many missed xtra pts and could be a concern in a close game.

I wouldn't put it on the kicker this week. I think this is the first game back for Studer on XP.

The first snap was behind him and he had trouble catching it. Normally Joe gets that catch and at least gets the ball down. I don't think he had played a down in the game prior to the XP.

The second one had a ball infraction on the center (which was never explained by the ref) so it ended up being from 15 (25 yd FG equivalent). It was also behind studer and he did get it down. Kick went wide left. Would have made it from the original position.

The paper reported the 3rd as a kick but it was actually a conversion try that failed.

I'm sure they get it all together this week.

  3. Great game. Great game plan. Defense gets caught on the edges now and then.. Not sure if they are getting caught in a different stunt or scheme on those plays??? All around solid effort. No one thought Frankfort would roll over and quit....and they didnt. Great effort by those players...fans, not so much. Its a shame that a few of them could not take getting beat with out blaming the refs, field, our fans, the weather....etc. LOL.

Oline and Dline dominated in my opinion. Solid play from linebackers. Stringer running with purpose and with Stokes and Studer...it is a great combo. Cant say enough about Combs, McKown, Etler, Overstreet, Bright, Hamilton, Mahoney and Stokes for the job done in the trenches...They will all need to play their BEST game next week.

What was their complaint about the field? At least their seats weren't about to fall down!

  4. Thanks for the info BigBlue18. :thumb:

If that was a Central camera, I wonder why they removed that look. It was a very good view.

What do you think the missing video shows. I don't think there is much doubt that the player was tackled by the helmet.

If central was trying to hide something, none of this would be out there. Based on my hudl experience, the missing video could be as easy as someone unchecked a box.

  5. Two angles were from Corbin Cameras and two angles were from Central Cameras. The highlight was made and posted by Central Coaching staff so if it was edited it had to be done by the Central Coaching staff.

not true. If the missing angle was shared by Corbin and then the sharing was discontinued it would be removed from the highlight.

  6. I wonder why the video has been changed.

In the original version, there were 4 views. Now there is only 3 views in the clip. The view from behind the offense, which really showed the facemask penalty, is now missing.

    Why?

That could be as simple as someone checking/unchecking a box on Hudl. All 3 current videos show the penalty. Clearly tackled by the head. As for the catch in the endzone, it was low, could have touched the ground, but you don't see any of the Corbin players signaling no catch.

I can't believe they have 4 cameras. Do they all run off on signal to start and stop?

  7. I think what Jim was saying was that the KHSAA website automatically sets game times at 7:30 and then teams can go in and change them. I remember earlier in the year Frankfort had a game scheduled with a Florida team but there was no team name, rather a TBA. The game time, however, still showed 7:30.

Yes the KHSAA website has them defaulted as 7:30 starts. For Dixie's playoff games against Ryle and SK the website showed 7:30 automatically but those games were scheduled 7:00 starts (the SK game didn't start until 7:30 due to them being stuck in traffic and arriving late).

It's not just the website. The instructions say 730 is default start time. All the details can be found here: http://khsaa.org/football/footballplayoffinstructionswithforms.pdf

The Principal of the host school shall serve as, or shall appoint, a manager for each playoff contest. The home manager

will set the site for the game.

 A complete bracket of your Class is constantly updated on the KHSAA web site Football | Kentucky High School Athletic Association. Go to

that web site and go to the bracket link throughout the playoffs.

 Playoff competition will begin on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday three weeks prior to Thanksgiving Day (November 6,

    7, or 8, 2014).

 All playoff contests shall be held on Friday unless there exists a mutual agreement between the schools to hold the

game on another day due to field conditions or availability, availability of officials, or in the mutual best interests of the

    competing teams.

 The game time shall be 7:30 p.m. local time unless the schools have a mutual agreement to play at another time.

 The top four teams as determined by intra-district records after all tie breakers have been applied will qualify for the

championship playoffs. The finishing position within the Region shall hereinafter be referred to as the “seeded position”.

 No playoff game shall be scheduled or played on a date or time that requires a loss of school time.

 The site of all games during the first four rounds in all classes shall be determined by the designated home team.

 The game manager shall notify the KHSAA of the site, date and time of the game not later than 10 a.m. Monday prior

    to the game.

  8. I agree! No sense in angering the MF giant more than he already is! From the past meetings I would keep quiet, let things play out, no need to get MF angry and give them a reason to make a goodbye statement to Beechwood and class A.

    Agree!!!

SMH!!! Jason has more posts in this thread than he has had since the end of last football season!

Said he hasn't been to a BW game in 6 years above but he comes here to poke the bear!

  9. This was posted in the Dixie/SK thread

Can you imagine if Cov Cath would have pulled it out? We would have had 3 state semi-finalists along a 1.5-2.0 mile stretch of Dixie Highway. That would have been unreal. I would challenge to find that occurring ANYWHERE. Oh, well. It was a neat thought while it lasted. It is not only a testimonial to NKY football but also to the talent level contained in a few neighborhoods fairly close together.

and kids from Cov Cath could be playing for the other 2!

  10. Ok we have to make this week count as we will never again get to give each other direct crap so lets get it going MF and Bw

On paper this looks to me like Bw is a favorite and a older more veteran team but both teams have areas of advantage. Overall I would give BW a offense edge and MF the defensive. Coaching goes to the Cards in a big way while home field, though I don't think its a advantage, goes to Bw

OH LORD!!!!! You love to play this game don't you!

Don't have a dog in the fight but you better come ready to play. This is the best Beechwood team I have seen in at least 6 or 7 years. They have nice size and speed and can both run and pass. Keep thinking they aren't any good and it will be a long drive back to Mayfield! GO BEECHIES!!!

This is a good, solid team! The best since 2011, but we would have to debate how they are compared to that team.
