It’s Stockdale. Not sure when they will officially announce it. To be honest, I think they scrambled a little bit after 3-4 candidates turned the job down.

I was told that CHHS had very few applications due to the suspicion that Jackson was a slam dunk for the job.  He was unable to take it due to a family commitment that is leading him out of state.   That it was never offered to anyone but Stockdale.   Can you tell us differently, and who applied and rejected...because that's not what I heard.

  2. isn't Marc Clark the former HC that went back to Hopkinsville untethered at this time?  would he come back?  Who are some retired coaches floating around in the area who may want to take over this program?

what about the former coach of marshall coach Etheridge?

  3. I think a better question would be.... if you had to go somewhere and start a football program where would you go?  (not talking about a school without football I mean you as a HC are going to start and build...where would you choose?)

I believe it was lou holtz..... that said there are no open good jobs.... all the good jobs are taken.  with that said.... there are some great programs and communities listed on this thread.  I pose this question.... have those programs always been great? Good?  etc.....?   and I feel the answer is no.  Every great program was once not a good job and someone came in put the time in and started laying the foundations for success.

The Ironmen are Allstar teams formed out of the EAYF mentioned above. They only play tournaments at the end of the season.

The Etown Panther football teams are the ones that play in the MKYFC.

Radcliff does have a couple teams that play. They seem to bounce around to different leagues. Seems to be lots of infighting every yr amongst those teams which leads to new teams being formed etc. Same reason the North Hardin league ended up dissolving

all that infighting and parental issues seems to spill over the the NH team as well.... talk about the need for a culture overhaul!  it was that way and has been for years well back into the NHYFL.  When I was a NH you had kids still clinging to their NHYFL team and loyal to those teams!

  5. Bump......  Well let's go ahead and do it..... Would Josh Jaggers be a possibility here???  It seems every year he was rumored for about 10 openings that came up so let's just go ahead and throw it out there. I know that with the new superintendent eTown and some other central office personnel Josh Jagger's is extremely tight. Will that lead to him being interested in this job? Will that lead to eTown reaching out to him? I have heard through the grapevine there are some issues at Lincoln county at the district level. I will say again this is speculation and hearsay which is what this whole form is about anyway lol

  6. Have hear the Superintendent and Associate Super made a trip to central KY to watch a play off game on thanksgiving weekend or the weekend before.   For the first time ever, the superintendent and associate aren't home grown individuals and will go out and find some quality applicants and hire the best not the most popular.  IMO the hire at MCHS needs to be an established head coach who has experience rebuilding a program, changing the culture, and keeping the parents' and their opinons at bay.

I remember some teams Marshall field during the mid 80"s that were very tuff.. Line up in a wishbone and came right at you behind a big massive line. Very well coached can't remember the head man's name do recall he had Vanderbilt ties.  Do remember they play at home against St.X and only lost 28-0 in the semis one year. Some advantages of being the head coach at Marshall is it's a nice place to live. Program historically has money and you're living beside one of the best man made lakes in the world. What makes it tuff to win is you're playing team in your district and region that has way more speed than you do. Let's be honest most kids in Marshall County are not built that way. You will have some years with some speed but team speed has always been a issue with them.

The head coach you speak of was a Mayfield and SEMO alum named Jim Shelton. He had a great staff - his DC / Strength Coach was a former OVC head coach and championship winning Coach Paul Brewester. It was 1995 when they played St. X. Coach Shelton also had another very successful run in 1999 with a kid at QB by the name of Gary Rockney.

Plenty of money, great location and community, but the kids there today are not built like the offensive and defensive lines you are referencing. Marshall played ball control in the bone and stiff defense. If the Marshals during the Shelton Era could score 21, they were probably gonna win!

Nonsense, as recent as last season Central Hardin was playing Apollo, Butler, Fern Creek, South Oldham. The schedule was brutal this season and putting probably the best team on the schedule in week 10 is not smart. I love the way Trinity has their bye week the last week of the season, giving their players time to recharge and heal some of the bumps and bruises before starting the playoffs.

Thru the years, Central Hardin has scheduled the likes of Bowling Green, South Warren, CAL, Central, Manual, Boyle County, and have not won any of these matchups! I called it and it happened vs Bryan Station. I saw Bryan Station the first game of the season vs Trinity and knew the game vs CH would not be competitive.

Nonsense.... if you play the cupcakes and beat the brakes off of them, then they don't line up to play you again...especially if they are rebuilding like the ones you mentioned.....  as someone who has built a schedule or 2, it is way easier to say what they should have done from behind the keyboard than being in the coach's office doing it.

With that said..... I agree with thunderbuddies!

  9. I am an alum of MCHS from the late 90s.  Marshall is a tough place to win.  The parents are a big problem.  Many of the guys I played with are now dads and let's say they sound like their daddys with unrealistic views of what it takes to win.   the key to success is in a place like marshall is discipline, toughness, and administration support.  I hope that Coach Mason will guide the process and change the support from administration for the program.  The key to success at marshall is a coach who will tell the parents to sit down shut up and an admin that will back them and allow the coach to do the necessary work to rebuild a program.

  10. Rick Fisher!  it is all Rick Fisher's fault.  I think maybe it has something to do with the loss to murray in the 90s that led to Murrays state championship appearance vs beachwood that Murray won but ended in crazy controversy.  beachwood took the safety and the player threw the ball up in the air in the endzone and murray caught the ball with time expiring..... Beachwood got the W and Murray got a Faux Title and lots of complaining.

  11. After watching the Eagles friday I was impressed! I look for good things to happen in Btown for the eagles this year!  I know that there was some shuffling, and I expect that who ever takes over the program for next year will be in a place with plenty of support, great facilities and a culture of winning!

    Great things in the future!
