  1. CVH is the real deal. Best player on the court by far.

Crusader Alex Green had a nice game tonight.

    Rome's had some big moments.

    Crazies in full force.

Saw something that I have never seen before. During the visiting team introductions, the Crazies all turned around and faced the wall and were chanting something.

During visiting team intro "the Crazies all turned around and faced the wall and were chanting something" Really? Come on Cov Cath, show some class!

  2. OTB84.

I am very proud of theses boys and as the father of one the players I told him I knew it was tough to get that far and not win. But he should be proud of the teams accomplishments and realize you don't always win. I also told him that as tough as it was to hear the better team did win. And if you we're not at the game I recommend watching it on KHSAA. The PURPLES really were exciting to watch.

    Classy comment, Centerref.

  3. You cannot blame the players for playing hard. You can blame the ref for losing control of the game.

No ref could deal any better with what was going on in that match. He was like a baby sitter trying to control a big bunch of unruly kids. The minute you get one settled down, another one will start acting up!

  4. Hard to argue with this.......a shame also. Scott players were playing their hearts out. Morgan with the great run and goal...hitting that fantastic free kick that skimmed off the inside of the cross bar for the gaol, then showing his emotions by urging his team on and calling them back for the restart like the job wasn't finished.....

Unfortunately, this one will be discussed for the loss of discipline instead of the great efforts. The yelling at the refs, players having to come from the back line and almost tackle other players,to keep them from mouthing off anymore.......just watch the khsaa.tv after BG scoredmthe 5th goal....

So congrats to BG for the title. Congrats to Scott for being the only other team playing tonight.

If you do not things got out of control, please watch the video and decide, for yourself....

Morgan kept pretty controlled all night considering tensions were running so high. Great free kick. His controlled, solid, KHA training showed through tonight.

  5. I really should let this mangles horse die but they did have 4 officials on the post season.

Soccer is by nature the most inconsistent sport because often the game is adjusted to skill level and atmosphere. For instance, in England if there isn't a minimum of two teeth missing it's not a foul and there better be an ambulance for a card.

By contrast I think they use a strong gust of wind as the gauge for what is a foul on some Hispanic countries.

Get over it people. Soccer isn't meant to be cookie cutter like so many American wish it was.

That's the greatest load of nonsense I've read on here in a long time, and that's saying something! Clearly you haven't been watching any "proper" soccer games in a long time.

  6. Just called St H and the office said only preschoolers are free not 10 and under. I told her the KHSAA site says 10 and under are free and she said that isn't what they were told. That will keep me away. My 9 year old won't sit and watch the game and i can't leave him home alone so we won't be going.

That is going to lead to a lot of hassle at the gate tonight! It's ridiculous charging children $10!

  7. My post that you pasted had nothing to do with the "young gentlemen from Covington Catholic", it was in regard to some on here that have questioned rather or not the SH players taunted and the SH keeper flipped off the cch student section. Maybe go back and reread it.

Another point, and I've mentioned this here previously, players should be disciplined and focused to keep their complete attention to the task at hand between the lines. I'm been to a number of cch basketball games, their student turns out in more numbers and are louder at these indoor sporting events. And when they play at a venue such as NKU Bank of KY Cnt, the cch students assemble directly behind one of the basketball goals, approximately just 10 feet beyond the baseline. During the opponent's free throw shooting they heckle him like no other, no one seems to have a problem with. I have never seen an opponent's bb player flip off the cch student section during any bb game.

If what some have indicated here that it is ok for players to respond directly to student sections during a game, then envision any bb player for any team flipping off any school's student section during a game. If you're ok with that you have a different perspective of sports then I hope the overwhelming majority does.

    Ok. Will do.

To be honest I don't really care what they do at your basketball games, although it sounds like that's where they get their heckling practice done. I hope you, and they, recover from the supposed sight of someone flipping them off, even though the goalie was wearing thick goalie gloves. It is NOT right to flip someone off, but don't act like you, or any other kid, has never seen it before. Please. Get real. They won't be scarred for life.

  8. The denials are a joke, the taunting and giving the finger twice to the cch student section did happen. For all in denial, only thing that makes sense is you did not witness it with your own eyes, (which can happen, you were in the restroom, looking at your phone, etc) as yellowcard said, literally could see it from almost any place in the complex.

As we witness almost everyday by own current fed government, the cover up can be worse then the crime itself.

Yep, you said it, the denials are a joke... How could any God fearing person even consider that the well-mannered, polite, always reserved, angelic young gentlemen from Covington Catholic would be in any way loud, obnoxious, vulgar, disrespectful, or taunting. Slap on the wrist for everyone who dared speak ill of these upstanding pillars of the school community.

  9. Ok, I misunderstood what you were saying then. I thought you said I was calling a HS kid names in public forum and I didn't do anything of the kind.

Now ow that is cleared up, here is my stance. I will be rooting on SH when they go down state. I think it's an awesome story that they won!! I simply wish if a Ayer on the field, no matter who or which team, acted the way that was reported, that he be held accountable. That is all, they should be held accountable for

tneir actions so they learn what is accwptable

and not acceptable. I didn't think that was so far out of line

to say. The bigger issue is when it seems adults are

condoning the actions by using excuses to why it was done in the first place.

We all played sports and understand your emotions can take

over. One time flipping The stands off from the field is one thing but twice

    is unacceptable

and he should have been done is all I'm saying.

You weren't there. You're not connected to either team. You don't know who was held accountable or not. Please get over it and move on.

  10. I wasn't there and people can always say kids will be kids or they are only 17 year olds etc.

Sorry that doesn't fly with me and to try and brush it off by saying no one is perfect is only allowing the same type of behavior from the kid to continue.

I don't care what happened to make the goalie respond the way he did and I don't care if he is only 14 years old, if I were his coach and saw him flip off the crazies or the crowd the first time I'd sub him out really fast and have a nice strong conversation with him and if he understood he would go back in, if he did it a second time, there wouldn't be any going back into the game with me and there wouldn't be any going down state with me either.

Too bad the ref didn't see it because he should have gotten a card for such behavior. Never, ever condone such actions and to do so is ridiculous!

I have no dog in the fight with either school, I am just a soccer fan and I don't care how much pressure is on these kids, the soccer pitch is no place for that kind of behavior. Take some pride and respect not only the game but also your fellow players as well as opponents. Also when Pura said there is no need to ride this kid...well I disagree, maybe riding hiim is the only way to let him know that what he did and how he behaved is unacceptable behavior, appreantly some on here unfortunately think that type of behavior is just fine and that is sad.

You weren't there. You have no dog in the fight. Stop believing everything you hear. There are two sides to every story. You seem to be condoning the obnoxious behavior from some of the colonels, while at the same time you are outraged at the supposed gesture from the St. Henry goalie.

Too bad the AR didn't notify the ref about the obscenities coming from the Cov Cath section of the stands, and issue a card to the coach to calm them down, which is, I'm sure you know, perfectly within the refs remit. Let's hope someone in authority speaks to the "crazies" before their next big outing.

  11. One of the highest scoring teams in the state this year (MoCo.) didn't score a single goal in the regional tournament. I don't think Scott's defense ever gets the credit they should. In the one loss that Scott has in regulation, they played an entire half without their defensive leader, Evans. When the 3 senior backs for Scott are on the same page and play together, they are a tough wall to break. Especially with one of the best keepers in the state playing behind them.

    "Defense wins championships"

Well done to Scott, but the only reason Mo Co were one of the highest scoring teams in the state is that they had a lot of very easy competition, including at least 4 mercy games.

  12. I wasn't going to open this issue, but now that it is, I saw the keeper give the CCH student section the finger twice, no place for this in any sport let alone HS sports. HS athletics are an extension of the class room, can't imagine SH allows this sort of behavior to go on inside the school, will the SH administration do something about this?. No way they can say no one saw it, "we are not aware of it", etc. He not only embarrassed himself and his school, but his parents as well, hopefully they (parents) have already addressed this with him in a way they see fit.

Fans are permitted to cheer/heckle if done in good taste and fun. From my position, fairly close behind CCH students, I heard nothing to warrant his actions. And the CCH administration always has a good number of their staff standing very close to the CCH student section to supervise them. Heard if the students get out of line/ cross the line the administration will take care it the next school day.

And finally players should be totally focused between the lines, fans and spectators live outside those lines. All players are way better off to never react to any spectators heckling. Players, as high as professional to HS, down to youth loose respect in my book by doing what the SH keeper did last night.

I am sorely tempted to go into details about the vulgar obscenities I heard being directed at the St. Henry goalie and some of the St. Henry players taking throw-ins etc during the game. Please stop the nonsense. There are very few angelic high school students who don't succumb to bad language, or one or two gestures, in the heat of the moment. By the way, it's not always the students who are the problem. I'm not condoning it, it happened, it can't be changed. Get real.

  13. I do not believe I did any name calling, as for calling out the kids, I feel that they are responsible for their behavior while they are on the field and I do not feel this was acceptable behavior. You will notice that I did speak of some saves he made and how well he played, I would just like to see him go about it in a more positive manner.

I did not hear any foul language coming from the students tonight, I also do not feel that the AD of CCH would allow this to happen either... he was standing right in front of the student section so I think he would have addressed it had it been going on. If it was being done, as you said, in an undertone that most people could not hear than I do not think the goalie would have heard it either.

    Ok.

  14. Qualifying for Regionals...awesome!

    Winning the region...incredible!

BEATING COVINGTON CATHOLIC TO GO TO STATE...PRICELESS!!!

Congratulations to the St. Henry Crusaders on never giving up in winning the regional championship in the ultra tough 9th AND doing it against a team that started their season with a 5-1 loss.

    -CardinalsFan

With a 5-1 loss to Cov Cath...
