For me this game (and almost any that Scott County are involved in) depends upon Trent Gilbert's ability to "earn" free throws. Every time he attacks the basket his shot is accompanied by a cry as if he's been ambushed. Some officials fall for it, others don't. To his credit his free throw percentage is phenomenal, he went 14-15 in the 11th Region Final against Henry Clay for example. Keep Gilbert away from the charity stripe and give your team a chance ... foul him and you'll be on your way home for sure!

No, no and no!

I've only seen Trinity once this season ... when Scott County bounced them out of Lafayette's gym. Are they really that good that they can lose five and still be #1?

Didn't know we could post pics like this. I'll be all over it next season. May even post a few from Rupp next week!

Lafayette jumped out to an early lead and kept it all the way through to the final buzzer.
Freshman phenom Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 18 points while Dee Givens added 15 and Ken'yale Demus chipped in with 10.
Bree Glover topscored for the Scotties with 20 while Shalika Smith added 16 to the cause.
Lafayette moves on to face Butler in the quarter finals.

Since Panda was on the beach (Well Deserved, IMO), here is a link to our pics of the game.
Do you have photographic credentials? If so try shooting a quarter from under the basket. You can get some great shots from there.

Here's a majorly important question for you. Who are the "dunkers" I need to be looking out for so I can get my shots at Rupp? If anyone mentions Scott County's Raekwon Long I'll obviously not take any other names you put forward seriously!

Since you have been one of our best viewers, stop up and say "HI", we will be upstairs across from the benches under the North Sign. Thanks for watching us. scottcountysportsnetwork.com
I'll be on the floor shooting for ESPN 1300 radio ... give me a yell too!

Good point, but either way I feel he won't be gracing a Rice jersey next season. Too many higher options for him now.

Jackson Davis received a scholarship offer from Mississippi State yesterday.
Davis also has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Butler, Central Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt since re-opening his recruitment last month. I understand that a few other schools, including Louisville, are also looking at him but have not offered yet.
I get the feeling that Rice are going to struggle to hold on to him.

You need me to cover Bardstown at Rupp? hehe

I'll be there shooting the game for ESPN 1300 radio. Any BGP members in attendance come over and say hi!

Seems to be a lot of reading only what you want to see on this thread.
With Hudson and Hines they in all likelihood would have won the region. Then would have had a shot at winning State WITH those players
Three words should be able to at least change the direction of this thread: Ware, Cunningham, Grundy

Sorry Beach Bumm, I must have misread your first post. I thought you called Davis a sore loser which, in my book, would be a character trait. My bad!

Sounds like that they were sore loser to not show up to pick up their awards.
If you think Jackson Davis is a sore loser then you really don't know him. The kid is a class act, and I'm not just talking on the court. He was at the girls final yesterday and was every bit the student fan, staying far away from the playing area until the end of the game so as not to attract any attention and even in the celebrations he was kind enough to step aside and allow me to shoot some photos inside of a celebratory circle the fans and cheerleaders had created.
I don't know Mendenhall well enough to comment on his actions though.

Dunbar led 24-23 at the half, then Lafayette turned the screw. No contest down the stretch.
Laf: Givens 15, K. Demus 0, Pankins 25, Cooley 9, Thomas 4
Dun: Ighodaro 10, Jackson 12, Rosen 3, Todd 13, Armstrong 2

I had one official during the Dunbar v Henry Clay girls game that I swear looked to see where I was sitting and made a beeline for the spot right in front of me. He must have been in my frame about 75% of the time. I ended up moving from wide on the baseline to right under the basket to get my shots.
