  1. Joker, First .... Congrats!!! Great Accomplishment!

Next ... When you get that information compiled, please pass it on! I am out of the area right now but have tried to follow Region 11 basketball the past couple years. I'm a big high school basketball historian so I've tried to familiarize myself with a lot of Lexington history & surrounding areas. This guide would be great for me and really help keep me updated on events in Region 11. Thanks for your time & effort!

  2. I was wondering if anybody could give us a running down on how June went for Bryan Station. I was wondering how was workouts? How the weight room was going? Were the players able to get in on a regular basis and so on? Did anybidy see them play as a team? Camp? Any information would be appreciated.

  3. Unfortunately transfers are a part of high school sports. Anybody that believes head coaches aren't aware of rumors about kids transferring into their program is just foolish. For the most part high school coaches do not initate contact with potential transfer. But once the word gets out that a kid is thinking of letting or is unhappy, most coaches let the word out that they would love to have that player in their program. Again most cosches will not do that themself but will have a "friend of a friend" do their work. That way they can say they run a clean program and had no contact with the kid. Yes .... Successful program recruits itself but coaches put the word out there that certain players are welcome. In no way is this an isolated case. Most coaches have the same philosophy so this post is not targeting one school or one coach.

  4. I am fairly new to Bluegeass Preps and Fayette Co. basketball in general but a few things I will agree with. Losing kids to transfer and discipline have been a couple of the problems. BUT ..... if The Station could keep their kids at home and if they would accept a little discipline I think B.S. could be a very good program.

  5. My 2 cents ..... Basketball!!! Speed, quickness, strength, explosiveness, etc. I think the area that sets them apart is their ability to control their body and be productive while in the air. Gymnastics require great body control but does not require you to play with a ball. So in my opinion .... Basketball has the best athletes.

  6. Sixer,

You are right the AAU circuit is where the recruiter get a chance to see players against very good competition. Recruiter evaluate a kids abilities against the type kids they will be playing against at the next level.

The one thing the high school game still has is structure. Recruiters do like to see how kids handle themself in front of crowds and with structure around them.

You probably said it best when you said "Confirm".
