  1. Very impressive win for the Lady Panthers tonight. This is their first win over the Lady Bears since the district final in 1993. This win also stops a Bracken County 26 game winning streak. Augusta moved the ball well with confidence tonight and were very strong on the boards. Unofficially Jerica Kelsch finished with 28 for Augusta and Bailey Cummins was held to 14.

  2. Augusta takes the floor for the first time since January 11th and gets a nice win over a decent Newport team. Bach leads all scorers with 41 points. He's joined in double digits by Connor Maddox with 16 and Camryn Snapp with 11. Newport was led by Ethan Snapp with 33 and Kameron Covington with 26. I'd also love to know how many rebounds Covington had. He dominated the glass on both ends. I'm guessing at least 25, maybe more. Both teams are now 11-7. Augusta returns to action on Wednesday night at Campbell County.

  3. Crawford looked pretty good in his return. And trust me, it is ABSOLUTELY frustrating when you lose the broadcast stream. When everything is plugged in and in working order you expect it to continue to work but that's not always the case. On the other hand, it was good to see the Panthers back on the floor after a long layoff getting a win against a decent Newport squad. I'm wondering if anyone from Newport kept stats because I'd love to know how many rebounds Covington had. He was a monster on the boards. Unoffical scoring as follows:

    Augusta 90 (11-7)

    Bach 41

    Maddox 16

    Snapp 11

    Freeman 8

    Gray 6

    Crawford 5

Shrader 3 - also dropped 38 in the jv's win

    Newport 76 (11-7)

    Snapp 33

    Covington 26

    Price 8

    Turner 4

    Spicer 2

    William 2

    Davis 1

  4. The Augusta Lady Panthers have some talent returning and these girls have put in a lot of hours playing together and improving year after year. As Brent Bach is to the boys team, Jerica Kelsch is to the girls. She'll only be a junior this year, has already surpassed 1,000 points and is certainly not alone in her quest to make the Lady Panthers a force. Look for Kaitlyn Whiteman, Oliva Wiseman, Oliva Rolph, Paige McCord and Samantha Kennard to help make some noise in the competitive 39th district.
