How do they get to a running clock?
The Rocks' second string defense may allow a couple of touchdowns after Trinity builds a 49-0 lead in the third quarter. Turnovers, field position, home field, our QB, Stein, is also the centerfielder for this spring's baseball team. Combine his quickness with the receiving corps that include the Dutton twins, Radcliff, Leach, Phillips, Sims, & Smyth. Henry Clay will have to gamble on defense. Phillips is very good at picking up a blitzing linebacker.
I'm quite certain Henry Clay was "faking" out the Rocks when they were deadlocked at 0 with Dunbar at halftime of their "titanic struggle".
Let's review: Henry Clay 47-43 vs. Boyle? 41-30 versus Clark County?
Quality loss: Cincy LaSalle finished 5-5, losing 4 of their last 5 and did not make the playoffs in Ohio.
Quality win for the Rocks 39-28 over Bowling Green.
Quality losses (I really don't believe in quality losses, but for discussion's sake)to USA Today's #2 in the country and to current AP and Litkenhous state #1 St. Xavier.
Cantrall has it T 96.7 to HC 88.7. That does place Trinity at number 1 in this ranking system.

I saw Boone on television versus Dixie Heights and was impressed by the passing attack and runing game. If Mr. Hauck had thrown the ball just a little....sorry for the flashback....I did not see Shelby this season. I did see them the past few with Matthews. I like Boone County at home in a high scoring game. Rebels 49 - Rockets 42.

I'm still for going back to the pre-1975 set up. Jefferson County's Champion was declared
state champion for the largest class from 1959-1974. If you don't mind the smaller schools, like Central, playing in the "at-large" playoffs and the occasional trip to Louisville, then that would be super. The City Champ versus the County Champ for all the marbles.....or bragging rights, rings, medallions, the trophy(which is still dwarfed by the basketball trophy), etc.....

Your sarcasm is wasted. I wasn't indicating any commentary at all with my post. I was merely stating facts. I didn't say whether it was a good thing or a bad thing.
The number of family Thanksgiving traditions that have been interrupted is staggering this year:cool:
Of course, Thanksgiving practice and the sharing of stories, not to mention doughnuts, has become a tradition at Trinity.
The Rocks will take the field at 9:00AM and get out by 11:00AM.:thumb:

The Lone Oak Purple Flash, who recently won the State Welding Championship according to their website, are on a roll. Their homefield is Flash Stadium:D
12-0 with record breaking QB Robinson.

Rocks make a big statement tonight. This is the breakout game the D needed, a little work to do on the not so special teams (kick coverage) but that will be taken care of. HC is next come on Friday.
Your ticket in section 103 Row M Seat 1 is still waiting for you! All 16 are spoken for this week.
Yes, kickoffs worry me.

Look for the Tigers to pass at will( or to Will). Unless the Tigers eat some undercooked turkey, they will win this one 49-7. X has slipped to #2 in the Herald-Leader's Cantral ratings and Marshall is ranked 7th out of 8 remaining squads in 6A.:thumb:
-
Before the games last Friday, I thought 70-50 Trinity was a realistic score. Now, with Henry Clay's first half debacle versus PLD, I believe the Rocks will take this one 49-14.
Yes, there will be a running clock in the third quarter.

Anyone got a score on this game?
Louisville TV station reported Central 24 E-Town 14 (3rd quarter)

How many private schools in the state of Kentucky play football?
By Class:
1A 6
2A 5
3A 0
4A 1
5A 1
6A 2
15 total. Must be the Holy Water.:fire:
8 of USATODAY Super 25 are private.....percentages favor privates nationwide.
-
At a quick glance, 5 of 20 remaining teams in Indiana football playoffs are private schools. 9 of 48 of those still alive in Ohio are private schools.
12 of 96 still playing in Kentucky are private schools. My point is these numbers are comparable and there is no public discussion of separation in our northern neighbors state associations.

He's put up "video game" numbers, against some very good teams (Manual, Scott Co. twice). I think he at least should be considered. What about Matthews @ Shelby County? -
Per a conversation with Mr. Tackett, the home team is under the "honor" system as far as reporting an accurate gate receipt total. The KHSAA does not get involved other than to provide the deadline for filing the proper report. There is no audit. I apparently witnessed around 3,000 people disappear at a playoff game a few years back according to the gate receipts.
Also, in reality, the home team sets the ticket prices . Be it $5.00, $6.00, etc....the visitors can make a suggestion but it can and has fallen on deaf ears.
The home team does not have to provide any tickets to be sold by the visiting school. It's up to the individual home team.
As a bonus, the home team may "drown" their field in preparation for the game. This has also been confirmed by Mr. Tackett.

Finch and all the other Tigers play in this hyped up blowout. X wins 38 - 14.
My sources say Finch will not play again this season.
Manual will not be able to adjust to St. Xavier's new passing attack. Fortunately, some other schools may have time to prepare for life without Rolandan.
St. Xavier 35-Manual 14.

Weather forecast as of this writing shows only 10% chance of precipitation on Friday. Will be a little chilly, thus extending the energy levels of the two-way players. Trinity 49-14 and there will not be a running clock.

3-A:
1 seed 8-0 vs. 4 seed

I wonder how this compares to two years ago when districts played other districts?
Anyone want to take the time to look it up?

I would have to say #4 seed Montgomery County over #1 seed Woodford at Woodford. I don't think anyone picked MC to win.
agreed

QB Mills for Fairdale is banged up, the backup C.J. Mack came entered in the 2nd quarter Friday vs. Western and played well.
Fairdale gets it done in a thriller - Fairdale 40 Valley 35

Meade, closer this time, 27-14.

Just talked to a Southern assistant, he said Southern scored first, then things went downhill from there.
