Dunbar is out of the 11th region which they have been battke tested. Lafayette(who did beat Mercer by 20) Henry Clay, LexCath and a fee more will give Mercer fits with their speed and athleticism. Tavioen Hollingsworth(Future Mr.Basketball candidate) Darious Williams(current Mr Basketball finalist) and the most improved player in the 11th Jordan (J-Lew) Lewis will lose relentless pressure and speed on and with the ball. Utility man Justin Kelley will play a BIG role in this one matching up with anyone on Mercer. Big man Dontell Brown who had been coking on of late will pose problems for them in the post. Superstars show up with the lights on. I believe this is Dunbar's year. They have 3 phenomenal players at key positions and understand what wimkimg is about. I credit Coach Chalk for equipping them with a brutal s geduke outside the 11th to prepare his team for this one Dunbar by 20. Tavieon and Carious show up for this one on a BIG way. Player for player outside of Trevon Faulkner Mercer doesn't match up well with.
As you like to point out, since Lafayette beat Mercer by 20, this game should be easy for Dunbar. It's convenient for you to disregard the Madison Central score and the result of the Lafayette v Southwest game.
As I said before, the result of one game tells you very little. Being a Lafayette fan, you should know this. You lost by 29 to Dunbar in January only to play them to the wire (5 point loss) in your district loss.
If Mercer plays like they did in their district (18 point) win over Southwest, they'll be more than fine. If they play like they did against Lafayette, they may lose by triple digits.

This is a game between two top five teams, both of whom have been ranked #1 at times during the season. Should be a dandy.
It depends on who brings their A game.
-
If mercer is allowed to be physical and hager gets away with the use of his off arm on every drive they win. Heck i pick mercer to win it all. Go 12th region..
Haters gonna hate. Seems like you have an obsession; maybe a little resentment? As was talked about earlier, it swings both ways. As a big guard, he simply doesn't get the body and hand check calls that smaller guards get.
Isn't it interesting that no ref can see what you see? This is evidenced by the fact that he hasn't been called for it all year long - 12th region refs or otherwise. But, you can find anything if you're ALWAYS looking for it.
Yeah, you're rooting for us. We all believe that.

Other common opponents were West Jessamine and Woodford. Dunbar beat West Jess by 30. Mercer played them 3 times and beat them by 44, 4 and 18.. Regarding Woodford, Dunbar beat them by 27 and Mercer beat them by 25.

I got the votes from Pulaski last night — Elkins, Fitzgerald, McKinney and Hager all tied with 11. Stearns, Gentry, Gover all with 10.
That's correct. I though Stearns was in there too but, point being, those 4 or 5 received the same number of votes.
-
Dylan James and Jake Smith should've made the list, no question. There are 3 names on that list that they are head and shoulders above.
Casey didn't start playing well until the last third of the season. That hurt Smith. As far as James, well, I think the reason for that one goes without saying.
-
Order by votes received: Blevins, Faulkner, Elkins, Fitzgerald, McKinney, Hager, Stearns, Gentry, Gover, Young, Hall, Holifield.
You're right, 12th Region is loaded. A lot of names left off, but not everyone can make it.
Coach Stallworth said it's fueling his players — and they're definitely playing with a chip on their shoulder.
Incorrect on the order of number of votes received. There was about a 5 way tie (through Stearns) after the first one or two.

The biggest difference in this game was Casey's physicality. They were so much stronger than Boyle and used that to their advantage, both inside and out.
-
Yes, Fitzgerald made the team.
-
James 23, Faulkner 17, Hager 15, Mink 13, Davis 6, Dow 6, Soider 3, Dunnimg 2.
-
Mink was phenomenal tonight. Played great!

Hate to add insult to injury here, but from what I seen the other night 2 cards shot 19 for 52 combined, Wayne shot 71 total. And Wayne only managed to make it to the free throw line 7 times. Not to discredit Boyle in any way, but with those kind of stats you're asking to get beat, and I feel like anyone reading this would agree to that.
BINGO.
I just checked Boyle's and Casey's stats. Both of those teams, along with SW and Mercer, have balanced scoring. That's huge IMO.

The atmosphere for this game is going to be awesome!!!!!!
That game is in SW's backyard and Mercer travels very well. Boyle always travels well, and Casey had a great turnout for their first game. So, I too think that the atmosphere for both games will be great!
-
The winner will likely be the team that dictates the pace. If Boyle's guards take care of the ball like they did against Wayne, I think Boyle will be able to slow it down and get the win. if not, Casey comes out on top.
I'll take Boyle by 6.
-
Mercer by 7. I think the score will be in the 70's.
-
Two top 5 teams. It is unfortunate that one's season is over.
-
I think Southwestern is in a good place to pull the upset. They are playing really good basketball right now. However, if Mercer brings the A game from the opening tip they should win.
I am very much looking forward for the Semifinal matchup at Pulaski County Monday night. Should be an absolutely great atmosphere!
Playing great basketball lol? They lost 3 of their last 4 coming into regional play with their lone win coming against Mcreary Central. I just think that was an interesting comment.
But, let me be clear. I'm by no means saying they can't beat Mercer. They are capable of beating any team in the state.

What a battle. Robins has a motor that goes non-stop. No quit in her. She is so quick and relentless.
I thought Maddie Bartley was the X factor for Mercer tonight. Tremendous all-around game. Another great kid from a great family!
-
Seygan Robins just recognized as POY and Coach Souder as COY. Nice way to start out the night!
-
Who coaches these teams?
-
Surprised at how close this one was throughout.
-
Very impressive win for the Rebels. I thought everyone for Boyle played well, especially Elkins and Slone.
Couple of team stats that stand out: Boyle shot 24 FT's to Wayne's 7. Wayne shot 22 threes (while only shooting 32%) to Boyle's 12. That speaks to the discipline and shot selection of the two teams, plain and simple.
The times that I've watched Wayne, that seems to be a recurring theme.

Final from Pulaski.
Very impressive!

I can understand why one would pick Dunbar. But when you say that Mercer has no chance to win against a team that they have been rated above at various times during the year, you lose a little bit of credibility. That's a ridiculous statement.
You have gone on and on about Mercer's transfers in another thread. Your axe has to be getting a little dull at this point. Is it possible that you have some history with key folks at Mercer?
Oh, and one other question. How do you think that Mercer would do against other 11th region teams? For instance, how would they fare against Franklin County?
