  1. It was on the "Today" show, but please, keep correcting me.

I don't care enough to debate this, I don't have a Heisman vote.

It was on the Today show because of the flooding in South Carolina. So Fournette transcends college football because his team happened to be playing South Carolina that week. According to you, because of the flooding in Carolina, Fournette is the greatest running back in the history of college football and on top of winning the heisman, he should also win the Nobel Peace Prize.
  2. So, if the billionaire is contributing hundreds of millions fewer tax dollars, who makes up the difference?

You take out the tax loopholes and they are contributing the same anyways. Then on top of that decrease government spending and oh my goodness our deficit might go down. What a noble concept.

  3. So a person making 10,000 a year pays 1250 while a person making 100 million a year pays 12.5 million?

Safe to say that 1250 will be missed more.

Why does that matter? The millionaire just gave 12.5 million. His money is worth more. Why punish someone more, who is already giving you 12.5 MILLION DOLLARS!! Thats what I don't understand about you liberals. How come you view a millionaire as less deserving of their money or that they didn't work as hard as others? Sorry they are wealthy... but why does their wealth bother you all so much? Worry about your money. The governments sole job is the protect the rights and freedoms of their people.

  4. In all honesty, we do need tax reform. But not in the way that the democrats will tell you. I believe we need a flat tax. 12.5%. All across the board. If you make a billion dollars you pay 125 million or if you make 10 dollars you pay a 1.25. Why does the billionaire need to pay more? HE/SHE CONTRIBUTES 125 MILLION DOLLARS. Let him/her have the money to do with what he pleases. That's their right as the citizen of the world, not just the United States. This is a universal right! If they are smart they will invest it in more businesses so they can make even more money. That is how business works. You make money, you spend that money so you can make more money, then the cycle starts all over.

  5. If my wife and / or mom knows who a guy is, he transcends being a football player. Has ZERO to do with his stats, in most cases. In this case, he has both, the off-the-field public love affair, and a BEAST between the lines.
All that means is your wife or mom happens to be in the room when you're watching ESPN. That doesn't equal transcendent. Transcendent is someone like Tim Tebow. Leonard Fournette is not Tim Tebow.
  6. I know some people will definitely disagree with me on this and I'm okay with that, but IMO teams can simply get bored playing teams that they are far superior too and then the game winds up being a lot closer than it should be. I think this is Michigan St. They have had 3 games circled on their schedule since last season ended. This is one of those games. They believe that they were just as good as Ohio State last season and proved they were pretty close by beating Baylor last year. They returned the core of their team and I believe the Michigan State team of last year will finally show up and will put on a show against Michigan.

  7. Trent Richardson I am not seeing as having similar characteristics.

I would have to disagree with you on that one. Trent put up amazing numbers with less of the load that Fournette gets. Trent is also every bit as physically imposing and Fournette is and probably in my opinion a better athlete. Trent was able to squat more than 3 times his weight and had close to the same speed as Fournette does. Is Fournette better than Trent I would say yeah, but I think physically they are very similar.

  8. ^The fact that Fournette has to do it all himself and is still dominating is what makes him far more impressive than anyone else. Everyone knows he's getting the ball and teams can't stop him. As you said, Ohio State has a passing game so teams have to play to stop both the pass and run, leaving them more susceptible to getting beat. With LSU, teams are stuffing the box knowing he's getting the ball and he's still shredding them.

He's not playing teams though. He's playing Syracuse and South Carolina. Teams where his NFL offensive line should absolutely dominate. I'm curious to watch him this weekend against Florida. But I'm not going to crown him the heisman until he does what he has been doing against Bama. Then I will be impressed.

  9. The thing that gets me is Fournette has to run the ball. They don't throw it. EVER. They either go 3 and out or he breaks off a big run. The reason I think Elliott is more impressive is Ohio State actually has a passing game too. He doesn't have to do it all by himself, even though I think he should most of the time. I know Fournette is a great back now and will likely shine in the NFL too, but let's hold back on saying he transcends college football. He's not one of the greats yet until he beats one of the greats. You know who else had similar characteristics as Fournette in college? Trent Richardson. How did that work out for him in the NFL? See how he plays when he is up against players who are just as athletic as he is and if he beats them, then I'll be impressed.
