  1. This gets confusing with people talking about X and now knowing whether its Cincy X or Lou X. I have to keep reminding myself which site I'm on, Kentuckypreps or Yappi (OH's version).
  2. That's not true. He wouldn't allow a suicide schedule every year if he hated to lose. What he hates are players who miss their assignments and poor execution.
  3. Colerain does that with a lot of teams, not just KY. The team wins state, graduates all their studs and Colerain pops up looking for a game next season.
  4. What are you talking about? St. x didn't even play in Fort Thomas in 2012. Are you talking about the way Highands squeaked by 12-7 in 2009? That was not their worst defeat, by any stretch of imagination. Colerain blasted St. X, winning by 28 in 2012. They also defeated X 24-7 in 2006. Highlands win doesn't even come close to any big loss Cincy X has suffered.
  5. I don't think anybody's upset. I just responded to several posts. A bit too many in a row, but oh well. Hell, this isn't eary for me anyway. I wake up at 5:30. This is late for me.
  6. That Colerain team was insanely good last year. A running & throwing QB with a quadruple-option offense. St. X has usually had an answer for Colerain with much success but X lost in the final seconds last year and then had the worst loss, in my memory, in the playoffs to Colerain. That game was ridiculous. I'm surprised Moeller was able to upset Colerain in the R4 Finals. Colerain had to play all 3 GCL powers in the playoffs.
  7. Especially not after they got the pounding of a lifetime in the scrimmage in 2011.
  8. Yes, Cin X defeated Lou X when Lou X was #16. Thank you for pointing that out!
  9. You call Highlands winning 12-7 abused? Get a grip! Not exactly a beatdown. I forgot and left it out. No, they were not #3 nationally. Not to mention, Highlands would not return the favor and play X at X in 2010. Maybe they thought it wasn't an almost certain win.
  10. Cincy St. X has 10 games already. They play: Ben Davis, IN Colerain, OH Indy Cathedral, IN Brentwood Acad, TN Moeller, OH Elder, OH LaSalle, OH Warren Central, IN St. Ignatius, OH Lou St. X, KY This has been the schedule since they released it in January. Cathdral has always been a close game, Brentwood is known for being tough and playing an equally competitive schedule, Colerain is the only public school in OH with enough guts to play St. X repeatedly, of course the 3 GCLS league games, the giant of Cleveland St. Iggy and our doppleganger from Louisville.
  11. X ducks nobody. Look at the list of teams X has faced and either won or lost. You don't schedule these teams thinking you're always going to win: 2005 Colerain (ranked #11 in the nation) 2006 Lakeland, FL (2005 #1 ranked team in nation, ranked #3 at the game) X lost 2007 DeMatha Catholic, MD (ranked #5 in the nation) X won 2008 Colerain (ranked #18 in the nation) X lost 2008 Prattville, AL (ranked #2 at end of 2007) X won 2008 Don Bosco Prep (ranked #4 in the nation) X won 2009 Colerain (ranked #13 in the nation) X won 2010 Our Lady of Good Counsel (ranked #25 in the nation) X lost 2011 Trinity (#1 in the nation) X lost 2012 Trinity (#1 in the nation) X lost Losing to top ranked teams does not bother Specht. St. X still leads the X/T series 6-3. Good luck against Colerain in 2013. They run the triple-option and their QB can run and throw. It will be a great matchup but I got my chips on Colerain.
  12. That must be Trinity because St. X has had Brentwood Academy, TN scheduled in week 4 since January when the schedule was released. St. X has all 10 games and has for a while. So before you go spouting about something you have no knowledge of, do a little research. Indeed, somebody is telling stories. X is playing the 3 top teams in Indiana (Indy Cathedral, Warren Central, Ben Davis) on top of Brentwood Academy, TN and Colerain and St. Ignatius and the rest of the 3 GCL league games and Lou St. X. If you can count, that makes 10. None of those games are guaranteed wins either since they trade wins back and forth between Lou X and St. Ignatius, Colerain and the rest. They've never played Ben Davis or Brentwood and Warren Central hasn't been played in over 10 years. An awful lot of tough competition to be scared of losing. Maybe that's not the issue afterall (thank you very much).
  13. Oh whatever! I'll just agree to disagree. Sully (AD) has already confirmed X didn't back out of any game.
  14. I can understand my rambling can confuse even myself, but the fact of the matter is, the statement was made that OH teams schedule KY teams when they are certain to win. NOT TRUE! Take Cincy X for example (ya know, from the topic?) Everybody is saying X cancelled. Okay, it's in Cincinnati @ X, with X returning 70% of their team with many more having some varsity playing time during 2012 when X only lost to Trinity by 1 in the final seconds. What logic is there in X cancelling the game? No doubt, it would be another great game but that was my logic I was attempting to explain. These teams were not almost certain to win anything. 2007 - X win 2008 - X lost 2009 - X win 2010 - X lost 2011 - X lost 2012 - X lost 4-2 vs Cincy X. Obviously the OH team was not certain to win. Trinity is a great team. I'm not discrediting that, just discrediting your assumption. I hate to see it go.
  15. Your logic sounded like Ohio teams schedule KY when the OH team is certain to win. I was proving that's not the case with the teams mentioned in the thread. I don't know why my last post was posted twice but whatever. I tried to delete it but I don't seem to see the place to click inside edit.
  16. Please explain Trinity's 2007 14-1 state championship run. St. Xavier scheduled Trinity and defeated them 47-31, despite trailing 23-17 at halftime. Seems your assumption is completely off! Explain the year Elder went 2-8 and Trinity trounced them worse than any team in history. I guess Elder wasn't certain they were going to win since they never won after week 2. Maybe St. Xavier and Elder like to mix it up a little. This year would be a year they may think they'd be certain to win. St. X has 18 experienced players returning (11 starters) including QB, 2 RBs, 1 WR/CB, most of OL and DL and secondary. Yet X did not schedule them. I'm not saying that is the reason (mix it up) but there would be no reason for X to cancel playing at X, with most of last year's team back that only lost in the final seconds by 1. It's obviously not because they think they'd lose. It was fun and I hope they renew it in the near future. It is a great OOS rivalry.
