He DID get cleared and has played the last 2 games for him. Way overdue. He will help their rotation down the stretch.

Was nice to see Neel play. He will help the Tomcats in a BIG way to offset the loss of Jennings. Nice rotation with him part of it!

Just an FYI, Ashland just recently lost Jennings a few weeks ago as he is concentrating on football, Neel, a starting guard for Russell last season , has transferred in before the start of this season, but has not been cleared to play varsity by the KHSAA. Having Jennings definitely helped the rotation for Ashland but now they are without him and Neel(at the present time) .

Ashland really wasn't at full strength as Jennings, an intregal part of their rotation, announced a few weeks ago he was leaving the team to concentrate on football. They also have been without Neel, a transfer point guard from Russell, who has not been cleared to play by the KHSAA(actually do not understand why). Those two were part of this anticipated rotation at the beginning of the season.

Whats going on with the Tomcats, last couple of years have been tough. Is the "feeder system" with regards to talent, not promising anymore?

OK. I was just wondering, over the years, since Coach Biggs arrived, they were always contending for the regional title. I know injuries take place and transfers(Dixon) factor in, these have happened in recent years and you have to adjust as a coach to what kind of team you have to develop. I just hope they have a good feeder system for up and coming players to carry on the Tomcat tradition and future success. I remembered many years ago when Paul Patterson left in 1979 to coach in the college ranks, the program had some good teams after that that could have been better with the coaches that succeeded Coach Patterson. Some down years. Then in the early 90's-2002 when coaches like Jeff Hall, Wayne Breeden, and Mike Flynn came along , the program developed to a level that all Tomcat fans enjoy, making it to the state tournament as the ultimate achievement for the program and the community. I think Coach Biggs is a great coach, so I hope they have a good feeder system in place for the success to come back. Excluding this year, Ashland has been successful and so close in the post season,knocking on that door to make it to the state tournament. I just hope that level of success comes back into play next year. Go Tomcats!

Just curious and wondering what is wrong with the Tomcat basketball program, only one win this year so far, never happens in this program as long as I can remember. Sure there is rebuilding involved from year to year but one win only at this point in the season?? Is there no up and coming players, no development of any extra talented younger players through the grade school and junior high programs? Like the coach an awful lot, just wondering about the talent level of players who are coming up through the system.
