  1. If we have read the true story on this matter, the NCAA is a complete and total bunch of narcissistic lunatics.

No second serving of spaghetti, and no extra paper clips

Give me a break. When I was in college the book store employees would encourage you to spend every last dime of scholarship money. As long as they already purchased their books then what is the big deal?

  2. I'll try to explain it as best as I can, but a lot of stuff happened in a short time and it was very confusing to say the least. And before anyone cries sour grapes I am just describing what happened.

With around 20 seconds left, PT had a 42- 36 lead. Graves was in the PT redzone when they ran a naked bootleg to the right; the PT CB was really the only one in position to make a play, but he was clearly held by the Graves WR, and the sideline judge whom was right there immediately threw the flag and waved off the TD. But then the refs got together, had a discussion, waved off the flag, and awarded the TD to put graves up 43-42 after the XP.

PT then takes over the kickoff, and on 2nd down from their own 24 or 25 hits a bomb to score with approximately 4 seconds left. While the players were celebrating in the end zone; an official on the far side of the field threw a flag out. I assumed it was excessive celebration, but he immediately began waving everyone back.

    The call was this:

Illegal Receiver downfield, personal foul ?

The officials then moved the ball back to the Graves 40 yard line. Remember, PT threw the ball from their own 24, so somehow the play got called back but PT advanced the ball 36 yards?

The following play was an incomplete pass, game over.

I am thoroughly confused and hope someone can clarify it for me.

  3. Tilghman_zps7f43fae5.jpgCopied this verbatim from author Bob Swisher in his book "A Century of Excellence"

In reference to Paducah Tilghmans Memorial Stadium

" The first game at Memorial Stadium was played October 20th, 1956 against Jackson , TN. Seating capacity was listed @ 7500 and 6000 attended that opener. a late afternoon rain-storm and a misty night kept attendance short of capacity.

The stadium was built at a cost of $200,000 raised by public donations. Sam Livingston spearheaded the fundraising which was completed in less than a year.

The stadium was dedicated the following week with Pikeville furnishing the opposition.

Paducah Tilghman defeated Jackson 25-0 and Pikeville 27-6, snapping their 19 game unbeaten streak."

Also in the story from former (1921-1924) Coach Lawrence Sullivan

" We had been playing at Wilhelm Field, next to where the railroad shops stand, and I had told Mr. Jetton that I was tired of picking cinders out of my players knees and elbows"

Since then Memorial Fields capacity has been increased to over 10,000. More than once I have heard from the opposition-

    "that place was half-empty"

Yes, but that is still a bunch

  4. Unless UK throws a absurd money number out there we will not see a big name coach come in, as the job has been proven toxic. They need a coach that can come in and attract a QUALITY staff as well, because a head coach is only as good as his supporting cast. This in turn will cost UK money as well.

Brohm could be an interesting option, but who could he bring along with him? How can he recruit? And what will the next coach use to "sell" a new UK?

Whoever takes it will have a mountain to climb-

  5. I bought the Stoops hype, but now I'm selling-

Followed everything about it closely for a while, but the ship is sinking now. At first we were getting the best 3* athletes, some 4*, and getting some interest from a few 5* athletes. Now my Bleacher Report app sends me " UK signs 2* LB". If we had won a few more of those close games against Florida, Tennessee, etc. we would still be getting the better recruits, but we did not and the talent follows wins not losses.

The hype is gone and the painful truth is rearing its ugly head again that it is the same old UK program on the field. I bleed blue, but the truth hurts
